Ok so I plan to do a Newcastle united themed hamper for my OH from the children for christmas, however this will be wrapped in christmas paper rather than cello otherwise he will guess what it is! I need ideas on a basket or box though ... Could I get away with covering a shoe box then adding white striped and maybe the club crest or do you think they would be better in a basket?
I have my list of all the items I would like to put in it, so now just need to start buying.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I think a covered shoe box would look fine rusty. I think I am going to do this for my movie hampers for my siblings as they really wont use a basketDebt free wannabe

savingholmes - brilliant hamper and what a lot of thought you've put into it. well done:T
Rusty - I'm doing covered shoe boxes for the men/boys in our family - thought they'd prefer a box to a basket.
Shoe box will be fine :jMary

Thanks for the replies. I will use a shoe box then. I just thought it was probably pointless looking for a basket and spending money on a basket when he won't use it ... although I get to use it again for someone else after christmas so it really wasn't an issue I guess.
I am all excited to get started now!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I forgot to mention the basket that was another bargain - original price in Wilkos was £2.49 its a hanging basket that is not quite round and not quite a cone either - and I got at least a £1 off so it was ideal....
The winnie the pooh stuff I already had too other than the stickers which were 3 packs for £2 from Tesco.
So new spend was really sweets, journal, basket - so £3.50-4 whereas the value was probably at least twice that.:jAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
