I have two sons and have bought the beer buckets from Home Bargains.
For the youngest one so far I have bought a film boxed set
Box of popcorn from 99p shop (date is fine)
    Going to get Doritos & Dip/Sweets & Chocs/Cans of Lager/Cans of coke
plus anything else I think of.

The other one likes Jack Daniels so in the bucket I am going to put a small bottle of Jack + some cans of coke
    Poker Set £1.99 Home Bargains
Some Jack Daniels Poker Chips & Cards from ebay
Box of Popcorn from 99p shop
    Have to get Sweets/Chocs etc.
I would have liked to get a green visor but don't want to pay more than £1 as can't see it being used much

I expect I may find a couple more things to pop in;)

I am doing a car wash bucket for dh & fil.
    Grey Bucket 99p Home Bargains
Red/Black & Grey Wheel Brush Home Bargains (can't remember how much but no more than £1)
Bottles of Screen Wash/ Car Wash all Homebargains
    Sponge & Chammis Poundland
    Smelly for car
    Interior car wipes 99p store

Also doing dh & fil the sweet boxes - so far only got boxes from Wickes

Sons will have a wash bag box filled with 'useful' smellies/shave gel/razors etc I have been buying throughout the year - these I would have to buy anyway so they will just get a bulk of them at xmas which is another parcel to open:rolleyes:
  • I picked up 3 packs of seeds for 10p each last week from wilkos. Mine were for peppers and veg mainly though. They had a few different packs reduced.
Thanks Rusty will have a look this week when I collect my baskets ordered on internet for instore collection - they have phoned to say they have arrived:j
I am going to try and go to Ikea at the weekend - I should jolly well think you are going back after getting such great bargains!! :D

Sethsgran - I did look for planters in Wilkos last week but didn't see anything worthwhile reduced I've probably missed them all

They did have 25% off birds nesting boxes for anyone who is doing a bird feeding hamper.

All sounds brilliant crystal clear, I am getting withdrawel symptons again ... must be about 2 weeks since I made up a hamper :(

I have 8 sweet boxes from wickes in my cupboard upstairs but somewhere I read these have to be left as late as possible of the sweets sometimes go funny (soft/sticky/hard?) so plan to leave mine til about 1 week before christmas when hopefully I will have everyone elses done!

I'll have a look in Wilkos when I'm at Mums. Should get something there I'd have thought. I'm miles away from Lidl...................miles away from anywhere..............................

Mary I totally sympathise!! I use to live not far from you and there is nothing is there? I got all excited when I found out I was moving near to Portsmouth. I though what with it being so big Portsmouth would have all the shops I need.

    Does it have a Hobbycraft?....NO!
    Does it have an Ikea?....NO!

    Typical just typical!

The other half told me Portsmouth had both! I think he was trying to butter me up with the idea of great shops to get me to move!! ;)

Nice to see you back and hear that the move went well.
Is it actually portsmouth you live in? I used to live in Havant, here are a couple for you

    Hobby craft - Havant
    Hobby craft - Southampton
    Hobbycraft - Crawley

Havant is your nearest being roughly 15 ish miles from portsmouth if I remember rightly.
Southampton being probably 30-40 mins drive from you?

However your nearest ikea is Thurrock which is a fair drive but not as bad as it sounds roughly 90 ish miles from portsmout so 1hr30 ish dependant on how fast/slow you drive etc

    Hope this helps you ;)

  • Ooh there is one in croydon aswell which is roughly 71 ish miles from portsmouth so a little closer for you ... failing that 2009 they are opening one in southampton

  • Hey Rusty!
I'm in Bordon which is about a 30 min drive from Portsmouth. I think I will have to wait for the Southampton Ikea to open and check it out then! I checked the Hobbycraft site and they tell me the Southampton one is closest. I think I may have to get a trip in before Christmas.
