    Hi all,

For those of you who are doing christmas gift hampers, I have a few questions.

Im going to do them this year.

Firstly, How do you decide what to put in the hamper for kids? Obviously there are presents I want to wrap but which items do you think are best for a hamper?

Do you buy your bits for the hamper first before getting the baskets? in case it isnt big enough?

I know wilkos do some good small baskets but wheres the best place for larger ones?

    Thanks

I agree, the small presents are ideal for hampers. Maybe find a theme and make up a themed hamper for children. I have seen a fantastic harry potter sweets one on here. Cant remember who made it sorry.

As for baskets, I am enjoying looking out for different kinds of containers to use for hampers, for my gardening hamper I used a hanging basket. Toy boxes are ideal for childrens hampers, something that will be useful for afterwards

  • Problem I have at the minute is my laptop keeps breaking (screen not working) so need to take it back to Tescos and get money back ... however OH has seen a better one on ebuyer which will take 3-5 days to arrive  meaning I am 3-5 days without a computer as he will moan if I use the main one upstairs. ... which is where my christmas list is!

OMG 3 - 5 days without PC  You will have to make sure you have done all your work b4 new one arrives as you will be ages reading all the posts you've missed. That's what I must do a little of today "cleaning" - right now

    good idea!!

This is the first time I am making them - wanted to do it last year but never got them done.

Am going to start getting things each time im in town.

Do you write lists of what you are getting or just get things as and when you see them?

I know :( How will I live :( ... I can sneekily steal the one upstairs if I get really bad withdrawal symptons but has to be without OH knowing lol he knows I can easily break them and will go mental if I break the main system upstairs

Hmmm cleaning ... that would be a good idea, but then so would be getting the children washed and dressed :rotfl:I have to go out soon and I am the only one who is dressed! Crystal when you have finished your cleanin, pop round and I will make you a cuppa which you can have after you have done mine :rotfl:

    Hello,

    Thanks for that.

The matalan boxes must be fairly big are they? they look tiny in the picture but going by what you have got in them...

I just hope mine has pink ones!!
Sorry cant find my tape measure or I would have measured them for you. They are quite deep but not very wide, although big enough to put plenty of things in them if that makes sense?

Cookiedough congratulations! We need pics of the LO when it arrives. Do you know what you are having? (I am broody and OH says I am not allowed another one )

Crystal lovely cellophane, I have a massive roll of plain cello although I really should buy some coloured stuff.

I know it means more cost and a bit more faff but you could use tissue paper on the insid of the cellophane to 'colour' it'???
