Well, I've just brought a 10m roll (bigger I know but it will get used hehe) by 80cm as I know I will be doing a couple of bigger hampers at Chrsitmas. The other half will just have to cope with my growing crafty collection when it comes to moving day hehe

  • Mary43 I noticed a watering can in wilkinsons yesterday whilst browsing for other things, think it was about 70p...I got together a cooking hamper for my children's mates (as suggested previously , thanks to the person who did) mixing bowl, wooden spoon and cutters...nearer the time will buy some cooking mix)

I love reading this thread, you all make such lovely hampers and come up with such great ideas
    Regards, mr and mrs t

HI, starting to look at Christmas lists. For my best friend and her OH and 3 kids I normally give them a hamper (means they can try different foods without wasting money). 2 years ago I gave them a 36" cast iron wok (£3 from cash and carry) and filled it with lots of asian cooking goodies. Last year it was a oak storage box filled with Italian food goodies. Was going to stick to the food theme this year but make it foods of the world (unless anyone else has any other ideas?), putting in rice, pasta (since they are getting ridiculous) and lots of nice sauces, herbs etc. But any ideas for a cheap but strong container? Ideally something she can use again.

I like the idea of the script ones, are they expensive?

not a basket but a couple of years ago i gave some relatives hampers with a Tesco basic washing-up bowl as the base and filled it with a flannel, small cloakroom towel, pumice stone, foot creme, foot freshener, bubble bath, scented sachets to stick into boots and socks. The ladies also got nail products and the gents got clippers. Didn't cost a lot and was gratefully received.

We have a little hole punch that cuts out a footprint so we made large plain card tags and used the punch all around the outside. :)

i'm sure I've seen them in the supermarkets - one with pasta words - 'fettucine', 'lasagne', 'rigatone' etc and I think i've seen them with different vegetable words. i will look out for them now. Morrisons and ASDA, I think have had them so they wouldn't have been that expensive.

**just had a look at Lakeland site but I can't get into colander page - I may have seen them there though. I'm not out until tomorrow now but If I can I'll check instore**
