Well, my Christmas Hampers went down such a storm I'm going again this year and doing Birthdays too.

First one is next week and have done a book lovers hamper with a book toke, book cover, fancy bookmark and the obligitory mug and not choccy sachets :p

BIL will be getting a *Chilli* hamper next month and I've not though to much about the other yet other than OH's Bro & SIL for xmas ~ next year they are going on a NY, Las Vegas, Mexican, Hawaii super holiday, I was thinking of doing 4 mini hampers each with a guide book and:
NY ~ scarves & lip balm
LV ~ some kind of poker/roulette game
    M ~ bottle of Tequila
    H ~ after sun, etc

    What do you think?

Will post a pic of the book hamper later :D

What a great idea or you could do one big one along the stars and stripes theme, with flags, popcorn, playing cards anything at all really with the American flag on. You could always print off some flags and stick to things like suntan lotion

Can't wait to see the book hamper

Here's the basket - the book token is inside the little white envelope:

The black crepe paper houses the most beautiful bookmark I have ever seen. I didnt want to unwrap it but this is what it looks like:

I havent wrapped it yet :o

I have also run out of cellophane, dont have enough time to get some off eBay and refuse to pay £1 per metre at the florist so I bought a roll of silver wrapping paper and a purple bow ~ I will post when wrapped and photographed.

  • Matalan have a fabulous half price sale on at the moment and I filled my basket to brimming yesterday!

My three favourite buys were a set of three lined white wicker baskets (really good sizes) for £15 the set. A cream enamel colander which I thought would look lovely filled with herbs/sauce mixes etc and covered with the famous cellaphane. But the best buy ever was a gorgeous set of six mugs decorated with funky shoes at the bargain price of £1.50 for the six. I will split the pack and filll them with something or other!
  • Incidentally, the friend I went shopping with was, at the end of the day, shaking her head at me! She said she'd never shopped with anyone who picks things up, looks them over and decides on a completely different use to what the item was originally made for!

As for the bag of artificial cherries I went ecstacic over!! Well us muffin girls understand don't we!!
