Stopping Unknown calls

This is true, was offered a new number for free from Vodaphone which of course would solve the problem .... but I do not want too so will have to live with it

Nope, the legal 'issues' with call recording are simple. At least one party must be aware that the call be being recorded. If you are recording your own calls, that law is satisfied, as it'd be pretty hard to do it unawares :rotfl:
the warning you usually hear is for the benifit of the person they are calling.
so you are within your rights to record the call since all parties are aware it may be recorded.Laters

Hopefully there is an app for that.....0

I was in a bit of financial difficulty not so long ago, and was recieveing similar calls. Vodafone appears unable to bar unknown numbers or even specific numbers- they just say change ur number. I have done like 5 times now in past few years!.On the bank side of things, they SHOULD NEVER EVER call you from an unknown number. And if they ever call YOU and ask you to provide personal details- hang up. I would definetly say you should request not to be contacted by phone- in debt or not. And calling from an unknown number seems very sneaky in order for you to get curious as to who was calling- and pick up! Needless to say when YOU RING them however, you get charged premium rate, and never get to talk to anyone. The phone calls are also to scare you. Would be better to approach them IN PERSON, and discuss your options ad they will have no need to keep on pestering you. Good luck. Hope things work out.0

Have recently been putting my CV on numerous job sites, it has my name address and contact numbers on it. So am assuming that is how they found me.
Unknown numbers, it should be our right to accept them or not as with land lines, had a call today a job related call and it was a blocked number.
So if you block the numbers known or not you may end up losing contact you do need, that returns to my main point no more Blocked or Unknown calls on mobiles...

I registered my land line with TPS. You can always try with your mobile number.0

Did a quick search there does not seem to be one, all I can do is use a silent ringtone for these numbers and ignore them0

Nobody can really explain how this company has obtained our numbers. Does anyone have any real world ideas, how they have got them. For example, i have posted my CV online recently....discuss.

I have received many calls from this number but i havent answered them. I have used an online divorce company as well so it looks as though they are getting our numbers from this source!

The information is out there, so how do we protect ourselves?
For me using my Iphone there is not much I can do, of course I can ignore these calls and more than likely will in the future.
My reason for starting the thread was more as a way to warn others
Have added my mobile number too TPS, but that may not stop overseas calls [as I think they are!]
The more we become connected the more open we are, the more we have to protect ourselves
Thanks for all your help
