  • Good morning, all!

Thanks for starting us off, Pix.

Ohhh DNMS, how exciting! When and where in London?

    Today I:
    • Have a meeting for a vollunteer gig, will take the bus there and back instead of the tube
    • will crochet! I am so behind! Ahhh!
    • will get my skates on for the US tax thingie I need to get sorted
    • go out with OH tonight - he got tickets to a show free from work
    • dinner before we go out from meal plan and stores

I haven't done the weekend lists before, I assume this is just for today then I'll do another one tomorrow?

Hope everyone has a good one.

we're thnking south london - being cautious I've always lived in kent so i'm nervy nervy :o want to be near enough to be in london but far enough so we feel we have some space IYSWIM? we're being bombarded with ppl who want to move out of london so are getting tons of emails from people everyday! so we have some options. Also thinking I may need to stay at my job initially but the plan is to get a job in the city - ppl doing the same job as me in london are getting paid at least 10k more than I am! so want to me southern enough that the commute isn't going to kill me- any ideas of where fits that bill??

re weekend some do a whole weekend and then update tomorrow & some do it daily whatever floats ur boat lady no rules round here ;)

Happy weekend everyone. Not that its too relaxing for me as I still have half the assignment to write - starting soon honest!

    So this weekend I'll be

    Writing another 1500 words
    Referencing
    Checking
    Submitting
    Bake a cake
Put some dough on in the BM
Make a lovely casserole for tea
Drink lots of honey and lemon for this rubbish cold

Think that's probably it for me as the assignment needs to be submitted tomorrow and the clocks ticking!

Ive heard fab stuff about Brixton these days - its not nearly as shady as it used to be and people love it there. Personally if I worked in the city I would live near old street - very young, funky neighborhoods that can be very affordable, and you could walk into work no problem - great night life too. You could get a much larger flat there than you could in most other neighborhoods as there is a lot of ex council stock.

But my true love is Camden Town - funky, near the parks, on the canals, easy walk into north central london if you get a job there.

Oh london, Im going to miss you so....

Can't believe how well you do on onepoll! :T I'm only at £4.85 and keep getting screened out... Boo! Do you find surveys come and go throughout the day? I only ever check it once a day and usually there are no surveys available...

Definitely check a few times a day - nothing much at weekends though, but I usually get a couple at lunchtime during the week, more after work (at 3.30) then more at teatime:D I'm on £10-odd right now and claimed my £40 about 3 weeks ago...so not doing too badly;)

Thanks Pixiechick! Will keep an eye out when I'm in work.

Just think, just a few more Onepoll payments and that Glasgow shopping trip could be yours! :D Glasgow shopping is definitely the best IMHO!

    Happy weekend everyone!

Ooh DNMS that sounds exciting! I've often thought about moving to London, not sure if I'd like it though...as much as I love how exciting it is compared to the dreary town I live in at the moment, I fear it would be too busy for me :o I think I am far too used to this small town...but definitely need to get out of it in a few years else I will never go, & I don't want to get sucked into the mentality that most people round here have if they don't make it out before they're 30! Not sure if that made any sense lol, time for another coffee me thinks...
Mbaz - Your tip made me :rotfl:
Welshwoofer - Ouch, amazing what some places get away with charging when the food isn't even that brilliant! I think a lot of places just don't know how to cook good veggie food as well though, maybe the meat dishes were much nicer.
La escocesa - Good luck with your course - you'll be fine!
Nottoobadyet - I used to love Camden for shopping! Unfortunately over the years most of the sellers seem to be stocking exactly the same things, but in fairness I haven't been for about 2 years now though. I think I'm overdue a visit :)

    Today I have/will:-

    • [STRIKE]Food from stores/meal plan - chicken out of freezer to defrost[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Heating on low[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Charge phone via pc since it's on anyway[/STRIKE]
    • Update ebay challenge
    • [STRIKE]Log calories on free app[/STRIKE]
    • Log any expenditure on free app
    • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE] Thanks for the onepoll tip by the way, I will try to check this more then once a day!
    • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
    • Put some washing away
    • Washing on eco setting
    • Hang up washing
    • [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Research wedding photographers more[/STRIKE] - Lots of appointments booked now!
    • Get some things ready for ebay if I can be bothered?? Lol!
    • [STRIKE]Nag OH to sort some things out[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Also get OH to pop to Mr T's after he's been to town (saves a teeny bit of petrol then) & stick to list[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Staying in again tonight to save some pennies[/STRIKE]
    • Put together all the bits I've bought as a wedding gift for my friend into a nice pack, & check with the hotel they're staying at that it's ok to leave in their room!
    • Hopefully get round to some baking later
    • Go for a run
    • [STRIKE]Use code to try out some free yoga[/STRIKE] I'm not sure how good this will be for keeping me fit, but it sure as hell relaxed me! Hopefully will make me a little more flexible etc as well :)
Have a great, moneysaving day everyone x

Hi everyone. Not a very good DFW day today.

DW has discovered that her bank card appears to have been cloned, and payments have gone out to a car finance company in France.

We've reported this to the bank's fraud department and cancelled the card. Not sure when we'll see the money back in the account, but we will have to use the credit cards until then. :(

Also had to go out and buy a new vacuum cleaner today. The old one packed up a while back. We've tried to make do with brooming, as most of the house has laminate flooring, but the few rooms where there are carpets are really in need of a good clean.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done

Its very true Im afraid, I never go to the market unless I have tourists visiting. There is, however, a great fruit and veg market on during the week and its such a lovely, colorful neighborhood that hasn't completely gentrified yet! Its also a great walk up from the market, along the canal into regents park.

Good afternoon all. Yay, it's the weekend and a busy one for me, no doubt. I've looked after DGS's baby brother for four hours this morning and managed to stop him screaming by the time mummy collected him!

    So far today I have:
    • run DW on Economy 7
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered chickens - one egg so far
    • order stitching supplies using 5% discount voucher
    • raided my savings to pay this month's rent :(
    I will also:
    • plant the L!dl fruit bushes in the garden (4 for £5)
    • clean out chickens in exchange for some more eggies
    • rejig the budget for March to see what I can shave a bit from
    • pay CC bill
    • put in quilting order with discount card (maybe......)
    • all meals from stores
    • spend time in the sewing room
    • no NSD today so trying to do it all so i can have an NSD tomorrow ;)
Oooh, exciting news - Josie thinks she may have found my first proper corset order. I meet the girl on Tuesday with my samples and further discussion. Fingers crossed it goes ahead.

Will catch up later, stitchy x
