Sorry, No Never again, the OP KNOWINGLY bought a house with a bus stop outside. Thats a bit like someone buying a house near Heathrow and expecting them to move the flightpath......

This is exactly the point I was going to make. Our flying club has been in operation since nineteen eighteen. The runway hasn't moved since then (there is a crosswind runway in ops since nineteen forty). Six houses have been built, at the end of the runway, since nineteen eighty, and they have all changed hands a few times since. Those living there now have been resident since at least nineteen ninety-one. There is a current campaign to get the runway moved, or the aerodrome closed down. We had their "leader" visit us before Christmas and he suggested that we turn to the North before flying over his house. The berk refused to belief not only the aeronautical impossibility of what he was asking, but the also the legal implications of encroaching on the airspace of a very large Class A Control Zone.

This is something that is happening in our village. The Nimbies are up in arms. They have spent the last three years spreading rumours and falsehoods about the houses being allocated to "Eastern European refugees" from London. They have sent fliers trying to frighten people into believing they are going to robbed and murdered in their beds. They have told everyone who will listen that the houses are going to be occupied by, "the unemployed, single mothers, drug addicts and criminals and in many cases all four."

The worse thing is they are assuming that everyone else is as racists and bigoted as they are.

Tell me about it Flyboy, rebuilding of my DD's school is being delayed because it's linked to social housing being built over the road from new 5 bed 'executive homes'

OP good luck with getting the bus stop moved, it took 40 years and 3 deaths for TFL to move an inappropriately positioned bus stop near me.

What do they care, they don't have to worry about what schools their children go to, or the fact that their children won't be able to afford to live in the same village they grew up in. The unofficial stance of this group is, "we don't want to be living next to the type people who can't afford to live here."

Too true, they'll pobably be sending their children to the private school down the road, what do they care that the county primary need to be rebuilt.

While it's all very rewarding for some to lecture the OP about his poor house buying decision, he does now have a genuine amenity problem.

Or if it is raining and he wants to catch the bus, a definite amenity benefit!

yes the bus stop was there prior to moving into the house

Did you even bother to view the house and the surrounding area?

If the OP bought "off plan," it would have been difficult to view the a house that hadn't been built yet.

But not too difficult to see the bus stop that had been there for years.;)
