Hi everyone had the same problem with this company took £69.50 from my bank a/c, on speaking to the bank they said that I have to wait 15 days before they could do anything and give me my money back. and if the money is not claimed within 5 days it is returned to my account. Also reported this firm to Action Fraud who said that they would investigate.
I like many of you I phoned and phoned left messages and guess what no replies what a surprise, so will be more careful from now on.
And you sound as though you are prepared to let them get away with it.
Refer to my Post #15 above, follow the instructions, and you should get your money back.
Don't let the bu**ers get you down!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I do not agree with them taking £69.50 for passing your details to other garbage loan companies so they can offer you a loan with only 8,499% APR,
HOWEVER
Why can't people take some responsibility and RESEARCH these companies before they give out their bloody bank details. Then they have the 'broker fee' deducted as is clearly stated in the terms and conditions, then come on here shouting SCAMMERS.
If you had taken the time to read the T&Cs, you wouldn't be trying to get your money back.0 -
Wonder who'll be the next one to pay first and post later!
Roll up,roll up.........and the loser is........?Space available for rent0 -
oh what they do is terrible, immoral blah blah blah.
NO, what they do is EXACTLY what they tell you they will do in their T&Cs.0 -

The problem is that when you talk to them on the phone, they DON'T tell you the truth, as has been shown so many times on these forums.
When my son was scammed (and I use the word in its proper sense) by one of these firms last year they told him his card details were "for verification purposes only".He wasn't even looking for a loan - only making enquiries about a car loan. I luckily managed to get his £69.95 back for him as I have outlined elsewhere above.
The people who are shafted (I think that's a better word than scammed) are usually those in a desperate situation and looking for a way out of their predicament.
I know we should all read the terms and conditions of every company we ever do business with, but let's be honest, how many of us ALWAYS do EVERY TIME.
It really is about time the government brought forward legislation to control or outlaw these companies. It really is about time Martin himself took up the matter with the minister concerned.
HOW ABOUT IT MARTIN!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I totally agree that they may not be entirely truthful, but the second some unknown company asks for your bank details you should say goodbye.
I also understand that people are desperate, and so are suckered into this but at the same time they are also responsible for their own actions.
I do not for one minute condone these companies and the way they talk you round to giving out your details, maybe I am just too suspicious which is why I get so annoyed when I hear people have willingly passed on their bank details to some random company who promise them the earth.
They must know that they are unlikely to get a loan, which is why they approach these companies in the first place.0 -
I had a similar call, stating my loan was accepted and gave me repayments etc. She then went on to say all I have to do it pay £69.50 and I will be contact with a date for the money to go into my account. I told her that I do not have the money untill a later date to which she responded with.... I can defer the loan application untill and when you ring with the payment we can continue then!
She then asked for my card detail to verify who I am and re assured me no payment would go out! I gave me 'card details' to her and she happily said brilliant I have verified you are who u say u are etc..... But the funny thing is I didn't give in my correct card details, I gave card details from an old bank account that is now closed! No payment obviously went through and I've heard nothing from them since!0 -
Exactly the same has happened to me & i'm so angry with myself. I sent my cancellation letter 2 hours after accepting the loan, the lady misinformed me by telling me that i would be able to check loans out before paying the fee. I rung 2 hours later too see where my offers were & i was told I wouldn't be offered anything until the money comes out, which we had agreed would be 2 weeks later. So i sent my cancellation letter off to the London address given to me & i've had no response. I have still got the number for them that I do get an answer from, which is the applications department, they continue to tell me that the dont deal with any complaints or cancellations & have given me a number for head office & complaint...which both don't answer or go straight to answerphone. I've written complaint emails to there head office & everything! Its been over 30 days now ( the applications department tried to tell me every week for the last 30 days that it can take up to 30 days for my refund & promised i would get it back)
In there terms & conditions it clearly states if you complain & cancel within 14 days your entitled to a refund!
My bank can't legally do anything as its a financial payment
I have since rung oft to get there credit liscence number & I'm now in the process of complaints with financial ombudsman...they have 8 weeks to get in touch or it goes further.
£69 might not be £100's of pounds but when you have a family to support & food to bring in its a hell of a lot of money!0 -

Actually not always the case... i was happy for them to take the money if i was offered loans...but i havent been! I cancelled my application via email & via letter & 30 days later I still havent recieved anything...
In there terms & conditions it says if cancelled within 14 days your entitled to a refund.
So NO THEY DON'T DO EXACTLY what they say they will do.0 -
