Well done for not being able to get a hold of them. I wouldn't be so sure about the fee either.
Steer clear. You have been warned.

Check section 10 in their T&C's....
    10. We charge a fee of £69.50 for providing the service of acting as a finance broker
  • Thanks Malky, I was aware that they are a finance broker, but what I liked about them is that they said that most brokers charge to find a lender, but they check loads and charge once you have received your money

Looks to me like they take the fee upfront. Read 10 and 13

[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] they took my husband's debit card details for verification purposes only they said, but then have proceeded to debit our account with £69.50. They sent their T&Cs link via mail quoting us as clients after they'd taken his card details - however when I looked at the wording it set alarm bells off so we called them straight away as what the chap on the phone said did not match their T&Cs - guess what no answer and simply sent to an answerphone!! so we left a message - guess what they didn't call back. So we mailed them telling them we were not pursuing a loan and that they were not authroized to take money from our account, guess what, no reply - so I contacted consumer action who are referring to trading standards and we have sent a recorded delivery letter to More Financial pointing out that we had not agreed to them finding us a loan and indeed there agent had misrepresented the T&Cs. So we'll see what happens next. Here's the odd thing we have called them at least 10 times now leaving 2 messages each time the phone goes to answerphone, being of a suspicious nature I called another tenant in the same building, guess what, they don't know of them being in the building but they do get lots of calls from people some who are distraught trying to get hold of them. Anyway I have now left a message with the landlord of the building to try and track this outfit down - it seems he recieves their post. I know it was stupid to give card details to the chap on the phone but he really made it all believable that it was only to verify who we were, like when you buy a phone. rant over.
    Regards

Yep we have that address for the company but no one ever answers the phone and other tenants do not know of them being in the building

If you look up winston house then you will see it offers virtual offices, so its just a mailing address for this company, and hundreds of others. [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]
The landlord of course will know the forwarding address or at least another address that they invoice the company for. But I'm sure its against the service contract they have with More Fiinancial to give it out - so I suspect the landlord will do nothing at all.

They called us as a result of completing an online form (not for More Financial but for another company) so does this count as accepting T&Cs even though we'd not seen them nor been sent them at that point?

You need to take your complaint to the FOS, there is a template letter on there to use.
Make sure you attach copies of your letters and complaints
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

From the [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] website...
    17. We operate a complaints procedure. If You wish to make a formal complaint, please send your complaint in writing to the following address: More Financial, Office 6945, London, W1A 6US. We will issue our final response to You within 8 weeks of Us receiving your complaint. If You are unhappy with our response or have not received our final response after 8 weeks You may refer your complaint to: Financial Ombudsman Service, South Quay Plaza, 183 Marsh Wall, London E14 9SR.
A quick word of advice to you.... STOP MESSING ABOUT WITH PHONE CALLS!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Follow their complaints procedure EXACTLY, do not phone them, do not email them.. WRITE and POST it recorded delivery.
Doesn't matter if they reply or not, just send it and as soon as the time is up, go to the FOS.
