You'l probably want a Maxi-cosi cabrio fix or Pebble car seat and quite a lot of pushchairs will fit that. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

I have to agree... having had loads of pushchairs (9 children so you can imagine) M&P Pliko is the dogs balloonies.. I've just got my 8th pliko, i think... light, lays flat, carrycot attachment if you want one car seat base fits in with seat belt and car seat clips in.. not that i have ever used it, manoevrable and franky quite fabulous... if this one breaks.. I'll get another exactly the same..
oh.. both OH and I are happy pushing it.. I am 5'2 and he is 6'4
If Pliko's are so great, how come your on your 8th one?
Do they have a limited life of 12/18 months or are you one of those pramoholics?
I have a petite star zia+ and I've only been using it for 8 weeks max and already its showing a lot of wear on the wheels/hood and frame, the handle has broken (its an adjustable one that now has 3 settings, down, up and off!) Its also a pigs ear to recline and sit up again, the shopping basket wouldn't even hold my purse!
I used a hauck pram for the early days then reverted back to my Maclaren, those things are nuclear bomb proof!Little Person Number 4 Due March 2012

I have been researching prams, I am at the early stage of this journey lol this thread is a godsend.
I was about to come on and ask if anyone has used Hauck and then I see the previous poster has.
What did you think of them? Would you go back to them?
The best travel system I can seem to find anywhere is the hauck shopper 11 they look sturdy and with some of the *different* colours they seem quite cheap!
If anyone else has any Hauck experience please let me know, I can't find too many unbiased reviews, there is nothing on Which? There goes my £1 trial down the drain:rotfl:

I only had the infinity as it was the cheapest but best looking one I could find with a carrycot. I have never used the shopper buggy or any other Hauck ones but the one I had was brilliant to push and with the carrycot it looked quite modern even though the design is going on 8 years old now. I didnt like the seat unit that much as it was shaped and my LO didnt look very comfortable in it until he was about 7 months old, he could face me though which was great, Hauck do a new one which the seat can face both ways.

That's great thank you so much Ravenlady. I am so glad I came across Hauck they seem so good for the price, I am looking for the catch lol. I was just going for the cheapest I could find - Safety First £99 travel system- but Which? seemed to say they weren't great for newborns and not very well padded.
We don't actually really need the travel system but when I see the price of some of them it seems the cheapest way to get a pram and car seat!
Facing me is pretty important to me which seems to surprisingly limit the options.
Thanks againDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

You've started pram research? You're due the same day as me - I've... um... got the notebook found to write a baby list in!
Oh hell!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -
I personally have chosen a pram and carseat that aren't compatible, not on purpose but its not something that is an issue for me as I am aware of the fact they don't recommend having baby in a car seat for any longer than 2 to 2.5 hours. Personally my opinion is that if being in a car seat is detrimental to their health if used for long periods then I would like to limit the amount of time anyway and would rather have baby in the car seat for 30 mins then transferred to the pram fo an hours shopping or whatever then back into the carseat for 30mins than being in the car seat for the full 2 hours. I can see why it'd be handy to leave baby in the carseat ocasionaly though, for example if you were only going to be 5 or 10 mins in a shop or something.0

Hi,
I'm just starting the confusing journey of buggy/pram/trvael system, etc shopping.
Would I be right in assuming that the different makes/models mentioned in this thread are only compatible with their own particular make of car seat? Or do they have universal connections/adapters to allow any make of seat to be fitted?
I ask becuase I had started looking from the point of view of buying the safest car seat for which I would then look at the corresponding buggy pram to go with it. However, I have found that I didn't like the buggy/pram of the same make and would like to know if it's possible to mix and match.0 -

Oh hell!
Ha Ha Dizzi hello again. Please do not be fooled I am a very disorganised person!! We are in the process of buying a house so I keep dreaming...I mean googling....about different furniture/kitchens etc so sometimes when the novelty of that wears off, I google prams
I don't know why I am giving prams such a priority over everything else a baby will need :rotfl:
And Lisa you have a point, I am not sure why I went straight to complete travel systems. In reality, I can't even drive and I doubt my partner will be interested in the speed with which he can go shopping with the baby in tow :rotfl:Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

ive gone for the silver cross surf without the carry cot option, and the maxi cosi pebble car seat and isofix base. for me the most important thing was how easy it was to put up and down and how lightweight it is as i have onging back issues and need something i can manage even if i did have a relapse with my back. the surf isnt a cheap option but it will last a few years as can use it from newborn and then it changes into a pushchair. it can be used facing you or away from you and the only downside in my opinion is that there is a trick to putting it down that you need to show people otherwise it wont fold flat and you also need to take the seat off before folding it flat.
we got ours delivered yesterday and its easy to put together, instructions are very clear and i could have put it together myself with no help if needed.0
