Our first pram, stroller, buggy...?

Pneumatic tyres are fine until you have walked several miles from home and you get a flat tyre. It's a nightmare trying to push the thing home with a crying baby and bags of shopping to juggle as well. The pump they give you is useless as it's generally a full on puncture. I've got a Urban Detour Altitude which is a dream to push but a puncture magnet, I also have a Phil n Teds which has failed me miserably on several occasions too. The tyre slime stuff doesn't work miracles like it's supposed to either!!
I have a standard mamas and papas Luna stroller which is ok. Would have gone for the Luna mix had I realised there was a difference. Have also had a M&P pliko which was a nightmare to steer, especially as I have bad carpal tunnel syndrome in my hands.
I've only ever had a flat on the front wheel and it still pushed fine. Not sure it did the inner tube any good though :rotfl:
My friend has switched from the Phil & ted to the Luna (the buses are short on pram spaces) and she hates the Luna.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

I've never had a flat at the front, it's always been the rear wheels and it seems to be thorns that work there way in between the tyre and tube that do it! I do live halfway up a farm style track though so probably more of an issue for me than anyody else
I don't overly like the Luna, snapped it up for 30 quid on ebay (it had less than 5 mins to go and was about 5 miles from here so no time for extensive research :rotfl:) after a puncture incident on my Phil n Teds. It feels quite flimsy and it folds flat rather than umbrella style like I had hoped. I've got a 3.5yr old DD and a 16 month old DS so don't really need a double anymore and didn't want to be paying too much for a pushchair I wouldn't get the use of! If I had lots of money I could easily become a pramaholic!0 -

That's true I can see that being more of a problem on the back wheel.
To be honest I'm not sure why my friend bought the Luna, it doesn't look any smaller than the P&T when we're on the bus  but she had a similar ebay situation to you :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

We bought a Hauck condor travel system. It's good for us. The choice came down to that or a mamas and papas pilko pramette. The Hauck was cheaper (£215 on offer at amazon and kiddicare) and was much lighter to carry. I'm really pleased with it.0

Sounds like what the OP really needs is a sling. No worries about storage and can pop baby in the sling and have hands free to carry the bags.I'm talking about something like a wrap or a Mei Tai not a Baby Bjorn. These can be used from birth to toddler so it's probably harder to get more MSE. They have good resale value too, you can't say that about many pushchairs after 3 years of use.
Just so you know I'm an ex pushchair addict but am now addicted to slings.:rotfl:0 -

I don't!! The Stokke is tall enough that I barely have to bend to pick baba up or put down, and my car is tall enough that I can lift the car seat straight off the chassis into the car without bending.
I've a higher than usual centre of gravity, so avoiding bending is an absolute must for me :T:A MSE's turbo-charged CurlyWurlyGirly:AThinks Naughty Things Too Much Clique Member No 3, 4 & 5

I would go round lots of baby stores / look online,to see what you like the look and sound of ,and then go on ebay / preloved or the nearly new baby shops and forums etc
first for me was that it had to look good or at least not ugly! lol
I don't like bugaboo's or the Stokke they are so ugly!
also the right chassis, bouncy with suspension for walking, smaller swivel wheels for ther boot / shopping etc
Maclaren buggies are fab and I like most of the Mamas & Papas range
I use a Quinny buzz @ work and I don't like it much at all, always getting flat rear tyre and so bulky !
I keep a Zapp in my boot which is fab for short trips / nipping round the shops etc,but no recline and feels quite unstable
Petite Star Zia looks good and a similar look to it
I would use a sling and travel system to meet your needs
Happy hunting!0 -

Well, you're the first person to say that! I get nothing but compliments when I'm out and about! I love it.
It's horses for courses really. People have said my car is ugly, but they soon shut up when I put my foot down:rotfl:
