Ive worked out i need to reclaim approx 6000 from the clydesdale but i cant work out from all the message whether i will get it as im in scotland.
what are my chances ?
I WOULD ADVISE THAT YOU TAKE THE FOS ROUTE RATHER THAN THE COURT. ITS FREE AND AS YET AS FAR AS I AM LED TO BELEIVE HAS HAD A 100% SUCCESS RATE.
PS I am waiting on a result from them and hope the 100% keeps going until after my case!!!!!0 -
Hi
Has anyone had any luck reclaiming from LTSB using the FOS as I submitted a complaint on the 26/06/07 as had an ongoing dispute with Lloyds since 07/03/07 in reclaiming just over 600. Also just submitted another one against Capital One who offered a goodwill gesture of 80 for 500 charges!
Any advice would be gratefully received. So far RBS seem like the best to bank with!

I am fighting lloyds tsb in scotland. Thing is i have not just been charged the normal £30 bank chages but also other charges. The last one which i still will not pay & i am fight also, was £30 charges, £315 charges (to which tsb can not tell me what these charges are for just that they are charges) plus interest. This hasnt been the only high charge i had in the last year. Has anyone else had these high charges that they can not explain what they are.0

Hi, I have just got back from the court today
I have to go back in September cause of the banks terms and conditions ( A & L ) they will need to give a reason for all the charges ( £25, £34 etc )
the court was very nerve racking
Also i have a joint account and it was only me that was there
I will be going to see the in court advice service next Thurs,
The same day i got the Wragge & Co letter in i got a cheque in from A & L for quarter the amount for which i rejected.
It is not that easy when your in court trying to get all the letters i sent and also the letters they sent + all the charges all the lawers coming in and the judge and his wig it makes you feel like i have done something wrong so hear to another go in Sept ,this is an ongoing thing since Feburary fingers crossed.    :eek:0 -
First of all, thanks to edinburgh lass for again offering support and guidance regarding a shakey moment concerning a response relating to a claim against EGG!
Secondly to all those Scots out there, please, if you are having no luck with the bank's themselves and are like me a bit scared of going down the court route please, please, please contact the FOS, they along with this site have kept me sane and always hopeful:T I have just received notification from the FOS about a massive amount (to me anyway) that is going to be refunded |(£5K !! inc 8% interest) from Nationwide, :j :j who I have to say have been quite a nightmare to deal with, wrong numbers, not receiving mail, not logging telephone conversation:mad: etc , once I contacted the FOS (since May 07) they have been on the case and this is my second success story regarding them. So please take heed and try this option, they are getting bogged down but get in there quick.
Also a huge big thank you to martin, the forums and of course edinburgh lass again, the support this site offers when you are feeling prety low is superb, keep it going, well done :A

Hi
My first post ever on a forum so please be gentle!
Anyway I am trying to reclaim charges from Alliance and Leicester. very annoyed as I only joined them to get the £50 quidco bribe which I had to fight to actually get from them and then got 4 x £25 charges for being overdrawn once, when I was meant to have an overdraft anyway! furious. anyway they said they would refund me, which they did £25, then it was after this I got the other 3 charges so in total they owe me £75. I know, i know its not much compared to the £1000s everyone is claiming back but these charges are totally ridiculous as it is their mistake.
Well I have argued and argued my case and they are ignoring everything I say so have given them their 14 days to give them back for go to court which is up tomorrow.
Well my main question is I am confused by the Scottish system, it does not seem as simple as the 'moneyclaim' site in England and also fees? I thought I would be able to claim for the bank to pay these but in the Scottish system the seem to be £39 plus £26 which would make my whole claim ridiculous if I have to pay this myself.
Hate Alliance and Leicester, £100 for being overdrawn once when i was meant to have an overdraft in place.
Thanks in advance for any advice

i wrote to them (talking to monkeys on the phone would have been easier than their call centre staff) and they refunded the whole lot, only about £100. however 6 weeks later i have another charge applied from back then so im going to send the same type of letter again. have they ignored your letters and actually want to proceed to court? i dont think its worth calling them tho. good luck.0

hi
diesel i am going to call my local branch tomorrow I think and see what they say, yip their call centre staff are appalling but I am so annoyed that I am having to do this in the first place, it is their mistake!
Anyone reading this avoid Alliance and Leicester like the plague! yes they have the best rates etc but £100 for being overdrawn once is insane!0 -
Hello Everyone,
My first contribution to these forums although i have read many of the articles and advice posted here.
I am in the middle of a claim against Barclays for just over £4000. My last communication was the letter (step 4) where i have asked for my money back and threatened court action should they not act.
Since then i have received a lump of letters from Barclays...My account is currently over the agreed overdraft limit set, due, in the main, to charges exceeding £150 some months.
I did the advised setting up parachute accounts and have transferred my banking elsewhere, however Barclays have issued letters of termination of the account as well as demands for the full repayment threatening court action and credit blacklisting if i do not comply.
I am now at the stage of either going the FOS or the Courts...as they have not responded in the 14 days.
How can i prevent credit blacklisting or any other threatened action while this is resolved?
I live in Scotland although my Bank is in Brighton England (long story!!) ... and i understand that the court method up here is not as easy as down south.
Any advice here is massively appreciated.
Thanks in advance
