I'm sorry you're struggling with this, mountainofdebt. Parents are human too, and they have their faults like the rest of us. Unfortunately that means that some are particularly selfish or self-centred, and blind to the needs and feelings of their children.
I think the world of my mum, although she definitely spends far more time, money and effort on my younger sister (25!). Thankfully i know that this is because i am much more independant than my very lovely but very niave and rather lazy sister, and that my mum loves to feel needed. She's not the sort of mum that i could be friends with, and we don't have an easy, relaxed relationship, but she means well. I am forever grateful to the person who made this clear to me, too!
I don't know much about your own situation, and an outside perspective is extremely useful, so i wondered what your other half thinks of the situation?Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0
