HSBC FTSE 250 Index questions

I'm currently researching various funds for a S&S ISA and I found the HSBC FTSE 250 Index which looks good, or at least has received good reviews as a good S&S performer. What I like about this fund is that the annual management charge is low at 0.25% with a TER of 0.27% and no initial charge.
Looking at the Fund's performance figures, the fund seems to have done well over the past few years:
31/10/05 - 31/10/06 33.8%
31/10/06 - 31/10/07 11.0%
30/10/07 - 31/10/08 -45.5%
31/10/08 - 31/10/09 42.3%
31/10/09 - 31/10/10 19.6%
What I'd like to know is: what returns could I expect if I had invested say £1000 (wrapped in an ISA) in this fund 5 years ago?
If I were to invest in this fund, what is the best way to go about investing? I found a site that I can invest in this fund via Co Funds
Thanks!

£1000 * 1.338 * 0.9973 * 1.11 * 0.9973 * 0.545 * 0.9973 * 1.423 * 0.9973 * 1.196 * 0.9973 = £1359.06
Don't know if there are any dealing charges to deduct from that.0 -
It also depends on whether you reinvest the dividends. It comes in two flavours, the "income" and the "accumulation" which automatically reinvests. Eg
http://www.h-l.co.uk/funds/fund-discounts,-prices--and--factsheets/search-results/h/hsbc-ftse-250-index-income/charts
shows the income version which pays out the dividend, and grew by about 20% over 5 years, but if you check the 'total return' button I think it shows you what you'd have got if you'd reinvested, giving the same result as the acc fund which is around 32%.
For how to buy, I quite like the intros at the candidmoney site : eg article on S&S ISA at http://www.candidmoney.com/articles/article192.aspx
Many here use Hargreaves-Lansdown https://www.h-l.co.uk but beware that they send out a lot of marketting material - need to be a little sceptical about their "wealth 150" stuff which may not be entirely based on performance.0 -
My Fidelity app shows the HSBC FTSE250 has grown from £1000 to £1286.41 over the last 5 yearsRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Thanks for the responses and input everyone, much appreciated. It's interesting to see the actual returns expected with a particular investment. I found a link that is quite helpful on Fidelity's website:
