I've just started using meal plans again. It's so much better waking up every morning knowing what I'm making that day, rather than spend the first half hour of the day wondering what to make. Here's mine for this week:-

Sun - roast chicken, roast pots, parsnips, sausagemeat stuffing, peas, carrots, mash, gravy

Mon - Sausagemeat and stuffing plait (GC), carrots, mash, gravy

Tue - chicken fried rice (GC)

Wed - Pasta bake, garlic tear and share bread

Thur - Soup, jacket potatoes, pudding

Fri - Takeaway secret kebab, wedges, salad

Sat - Fish cakes, salad, coleslaw or slow cooked beans

Lunches will be homemade soups, sandwiches or twice baked potatoes

sorry to butt in,could you explain the pizza swirls and salad sticks-sounds lovely for a packed lunch:j

I make a batch of pizza dough in the BM and roll it out into a big rectangle. Then I spread it with tomato puree, add cheese, ham, olives, whatever we've got basically, then roll it up like a swiss roll and cut it into about 12 discs. I put them on a baking sheet and leave to rise again for an hour or so, then bake for about 20 mins.
When they are cool, I wrap them individually and freeze them so they are really handy for popping in lunchboxes and will have defrosted by lunchthime.
I usually put in some carrot, cucumber and celery sticks and cherry tomatoes to have with it.

Hope this helps, I think I made it sound more exciting than it actually is!

In case anyone is curious, I'm vegan just because I prefer to be and find this diet gives me more energy. Anything that looks like it contains milk or eggs, doesn't - I'm just good at substituting. :)

Hi Sixlittleimps :) There's 2 of us regulars on this thread vegan that I know of (me and Arran - sorry if I missed someone) so it's nice to have some more ideas. I'm with you on the subbing - it's so much easier than people often think ;)

Breakfasts will be cereal and oat milk, toast, or pancakes. Bananas. OJ or coffee.

Snacks and afters can be rice crispie cakes, fruit cake, carrots, fruit, or crackers.

Lunches can be hummus or walnut and olive pate or peanut butter wraps/sandwiches, or scones, with carrot sticks or pepper sticks or mangetout, a piece of fruit, and soy yoghurt.

Teas will be bread and butter and Oreos or piece of fruit cake + tea or cups of oat milk

    Dinners
Monday: Falafel Burgers and coleslaw with sweet potato wedges
    Tuesday: Mixed Bean Couscous
Wednesday: Rosemary and Mushroom Lasagne with salad
Thursday: Weezl's Lentils and Sun Dried Tomatoes with Currants from the 50p thread - with rice
Friday: Vegetable bhaji, (sweet) aloo gobi, rice and avocado

Suppers if wanted will be oats or pears or popcorn.
Love and compassion to all x

    Hi all,

Our meals for this week are:

Mon: Burgers and chips (home made rather than from the king or the clown!):rotfl:
Tues: Chicken stir fry w/ noodles
Weds: Sausage and potato bake or Sausage and baked spud w/ ratatouille
Thurs: Smoked Haddock Chowder w/ crusty bread

Hi all, I'm a lurker and very occasional poster on this thread!!! I always meal plan and would stay we stick to it pretty much all the time!!! I'm 100% positive it saves me a fortune!!

Here's the plan for this week:

Sun - had roast pork at Mum's
Mon - HM crispy chicken with HM coleslaw, HM salsa, sw chips and salad
    Tues - at OH's parents
Wed - spag bol and garlic bread
Thurs - paprika pork with mash and veg
Fri - lamb dhansak, rice (and salad for me as I only have a bit of rice)
Sat & Sun - both at my Mum's
Monday - fish, sw chips, mushy peas or spicy fish kebabs with chips and salad, depends what we eat at mum's over the weekend!
Tues - at mum's again!!! OH will go to his mum's too.

The paprika pork is a new recipe, I'm also trying a new soup recipe (chunky minestrone) for my lunches and I think I'll have a go at the pizza swirls mentioned on here for OH.

Breakfasts are cereals for OH and porridge for me.
