I posted earlier on this thread. We finally had our offer accepted on a house we saw 3 months ago. The vendors were hell-bent on getting a certain price for their house and we already offered our max so today, they finally called to say they will take our offer! :T I can't believe it as we loved it from day one, been to see a lot more houses but kept coming back to this one...
Rautavaara I saw you on other threads but can't remember what the story with you is. Whereabouts are you buying in London? We are in SE London.
Well done angel, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly now for you :AMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
*Rautavaara* That's mad! Have you looked at Earlsfield? I think it's only a stop out from Clapham Junction but very cheap for London as it has no tube... A friend of ours lived there and it seemed a nice, overlooked part of London... How long have you been looking for? You have a good deposit. Good luck!
Hi - Earlsfield may have been cheap at one point ... not so much at the moment!
I would have to be fairly close to tube (up to ten minutes walk) and unfortunately around that area it's only the Northern line which goes totally the opposite direction in which I work.
I will continue to keep my eyes peeled, however

It needs some tlc but is easy for me to do. If it's a non starter then i'll think about one of the other 2.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I think it's a lovely house, lots of potential and I think your offer is a good one. Good luck!0

After an agonising wait I've got one. It's none of the previously mentioned houses.
I had last Friday off, initially to go to the Ideal Home Show. However I spent it hunting - again.
I nipped in to one of the agents and pointed out a house in my road. It's further down the close and further from the busy road (which is behind my house)
It's an Assisted Sale so is empty. the previous owners gave up cleaning months or years ago I think. It is roughly the same size as my present house but a different layout, although the same builder.
Knocked £20k off the asking price, the bank didn't care seemingly as long as the debt/mortgage was covered I guess.
the garden is twice the size of mine so I can have my chooks and also take my name of the lottie waiting list! I'll be able to sit outside in the summer and hear the birds - and hens, not the traffic.
It just needs litres of bleach and elbow grease really.
Happy days:TMortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
You found a house in your own street?!
Talk about looking for something that's under your own nose.
Great news!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
