Good to see some price drops already! It'll be a good time to hold off buying with all the new ones being released along with Android 3 this month - this is just the beginning of price drops. The new ones will have loads of hype and high prices, and in a few months it'll be good to buy midrange. The high end will be for people who can justify £800 for a gadget, the low end will be okay, and midrange will be pretty reasonable.

Those of us with an iPad would disagree about the android ones... anyone here own a Binatone one?? (insert smiley face if I knew how and a wink, I said wink!!)

Still over £100 more than a decent netbook that'll allow you to 'consume media' and much much more..

Android 3 is the first made-for-tablets version, so will really show what a tablet can do in comparison with something running an O/S designed for phones.

This is simply wrong, if you want an Apple device, the price drops only occur when they release a new version. So yes, the old version gets cheaper but the new one does not. This is because apple refuse to engage in the race to the bottom and uses it's premium brand equity to protect it's margins.

If you want an ipad 2, there is no point hold off for a price drop because there will not be one until the ipad 3 appears (which will be this time next year). However if you want an android tablet, yes the prices will come down because of the number of people releasing Android devices.
