I bought a new vacuum when the sales were on, just after the New Year. I actually had to pay about £4 more because of the VAT rise, and it wasn't even in the sale.
I had to buy our vacuum full price as ours broke the other day & its not the kind of item you can hold out on until its in the sales.0 -

Thankfully ours broke in January when the January sale was on in argos!
unfortunately my mum fixed the old one for me a couple of weeks later!GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

hi, if i buy apple products for me or the kids i buy the refurbs on offer from apple, they are perfect condition and have a 12 month warranty as per full priced products, varies from day to day whats on there but worth checking rather than paying full price0 -
I think it depends what shop I'm in if I pay full price or not. I don't think I've ever bought something full price in Jane Norman before. I always browse in there and then wait for the sales to start! Actually no I bought a purse in there full price, but it was only a fiver anyway lol.
If I go to other cheaper clothes stores I tend to buy full price. I actually can't stand clothes sales, it's so messy. I am starting to shop online for the clothes sales now, ok so I pay postage, but still cheaper than full price!
I love La Senzas 5 for £12 on knickers, you can get really nice ones and they don't cost £10 each!
I always look for bargains on DVD/Music.etc0 -
wt* is a Bombay Duck candle? Is it just a tea-light or is it really a dedicated candle with a special blend of (more expensive) waxes and wicks specifically designed for bombay duck?
Wow - some people are so rude here!
A Bombay Duck candle or tea light is as it says - a candle/tea light which is designed for the company eg Bombay Duck.
It's nicer sometimes for people who prefer a branded and maybe better quality product to the cheaper stuff out there.
I suppose this poster is the one who *missed* the Molton Brown glitches of last year. Some of us do want to give relatives and friends nicer gifts than we could otherwise afford at a bargain sale price.0 -

I always thought they were 17.5% - will look into this and let you know.0 -
I don't buy anything at full price if I can help it ......needless to say at this moment in time I can't get another thing in my freezer, the fridge is stock to the limit. Cupboards overflowing with tins of bloody soup and super noodles (on offer at tesco at the moment) so I don't think I need to food shop for a while. Since finding this website I haven't bought a single gift at full price
thank you everyone
Only thing I don't get a discount on is my Tassimo coffee and that's only because I can't find a discount code for it.

Don't women's sanitary items have a reduced VAT rate of 5%?
Yes .. definitely 5% and unchanged.0 -
I rarely buy anything full price, will usually wait until it's reduced or cheaper elsewhere (e.g. Amazon). The exceptions are emergency purchases, or stuff that might go out of stock before being reduced (I've lost out on a few clothes purchases waiting for them to be reduced, then they go OOS and they don't get any more in). You can't always tell what that will be though so it's a bit of a gamble.0

The specific model I wanted wasn't reduced, even though the Argos sale was on at the time. I couldn't find this one reduced anywhere else either. I could have got different models, but not the one I wanted and I wasn't willing to compromise with another model or make.0
