Not very good at reading threads are you?
I've a Subaru Legacy...
Will put the obligatory ROFL at the end of my post here, as by your reckoning, that seems to make the post valid and funny.

It's also patently untrue - why only this afternoon I saw one signalling as he left lane 3 on the M6 to join the exit slip over the hatch markings. Quite a few other motorists witnessed it too and were appreciative enough to recognise his courtesy by flashing their headlights and waving at him.
That old chestnut?
For stereotypical BMW haters, your not very good at coming up with new stories are you?0 -
I think you are all missing the obvious. Most of these cars are excellent cars, and many of us would like to own them, BUT.....it's the arrogant pratts that can afford them.
My experience seems more Mercedes drivers, who seem to think that the rules of the road, and common sense, courtesy etc are beneath them. If they want to park in places they are not permitted, or shouldn't, they do that too.
Having a second hand BMW some years ago, it was a delight to drive, everything was just 'so right', so it ain't the car that's the problem, it's the financial standing of the people that can afford them brand new. They refuse to acknowledge the peasants right to existance.
SO......if you win the lottery, and treat yourself, would YOU become a different person out on the road? Would everyone on here be saying the same things about you?
p.s. I used to pass through a Council estate many years ago, and there were quite a few of the old 'pre-fabs' left. People who lived in one of them, had an e-type and a Mercedes parked outside......perhaps it's not the financial standing of the drivers that's the problem?
Ah well.....we get to vent on here, don't we?0 -

Sadly, stereotypes do exist. And TBH i've been on the receiving end of that when i've had various cars. I've had several BMW's in my time and i've always made a point of being courteous, letting people out of junctions etc, etc however there were always people for whom you could do no right - simply because i drove a BMW. I remember doing nothing other than pulling out and passing someone who was sitting well under the speed limit in my x5, left plenty of room, etc, and once i passed he was flashing the lights and giving me the w*nker sign. Plus you definitely had less chance of getting let out at a busy junction.
I'd an MG TF out for a couple of runs last week, and even during those short runs i'd a couple of 'boy racers' who were tailgaiting me and pushing me for a 'race'. Maybe they felt they needed to prove something in their saxos.
Even in the Subaru Legacy, which is a big 2.5 automatic barge i've noticed i get cut up quite a bit. Or you pull out to pass them and they speed up....
Yet when i'm out in say a focus, astra, mondeo or vectra never have any problems.
Again - ALL because of peoples perceptions of how THEY 'think' people in certain types of cars behave. As it turns out, its how THEY behave towards those cars.
Also worked previous with a woman who INSISTED that it was ALWAYS a BMW that lane hogged on the motorway on her way home. I asked her to ring me the next time it happened and she had to admit it was actually a Fiat this time. Yet her perception was that EVERY time it was ALWAYS a BMW driver.0 -
I don't doubt that they are fantastic cars and wouldn't mind having one. Round my way we have a lot of travellers and they all seem to have brand new BMW's, a lot seem to have a total disregard for other road users. There is a tanning place in my town centre on the one way system and the amount of times half the road is blocked as there is a brand new BMW or Merc illegally parked is untrue.0

But is that because they are travellers (not exactly renowned for their high regard for people around them) OR because its a BMW? Maybe they drive their transit vans with the same disregard but your mind isnt picking that up?
Likewise, really, really - does your mind only pick up when its a BMW or Merc blocking the road, OR is it REALLY nearly always a BMW or Merc? OR maybe the tanning salon owner drives the BMW?0 -

I was driving to lincoln once, in my old Mx5 chilling out in the inside lane on the M1 getting ready to pull off in heavy traffic, I left a nice safe gap in front of me, good driving I thought, no, Mr X5 driver thought he could fit into it, then jam his breaks on.
First impressions... unfair fight... X5 vs Mx5... I give him a waving hand to say !!!!!!? he proceeded to give me a W&nker sign, Obviously with all his power he'd obviously be gone due to his superior car and german engineering and the fact he spent a whole lot more cash than me, cause he is wedged, when the road opened up, which it did shortly after. He didn't bank on me getting the old red mist and be in a position to be able to do something about it.
I proceeded to wind up the jackson racing super charger professionally fitted to my little toy and along with extra performance mods and much to his amazement got in front of him and proceeded to slow him down and giving him the w&nker sign in return. Justice served... his missus was also !!!!!!!! herself and hitting her husband and what only appeared to be apologising for her partners actions before I proceeded to stop him and discuss the matter further!... However, he raised his hand too, and proceeded to slow down and leave a nice gap.
I went on my happy merry way... in good spirt following said confrontation. BMW drivers, ultimate driving machine... Knobbers, the lot of them.
Before anyone says anything, ive just brought a brand new car... yes I can afford a BMW and would have one. However, decided against it!Plan

Guys, sorry to burst your bubble - but a$$holes drive all sorts of cars.
You need to ask yourself what makes you focus in on BMW drivers or Audi drivers - is it because you have been told to by some middle aged bloke on a TV show?
How much driving do you actually do? I do 100s of miles a week and without question the most likely sort of car to have a complete pillock driving it is an Audi. There seems to be some prerequisite that you have to be a !!!! to buy one. The occasional one I get behind me that isn't being driven by a cretin usually has a woman in it who presumably is driving her husbands car.
BMWs aren't actually that bad in my experience*, but are certainly more likely to be poorly driven than Fords or other 'family man' cars.
*Except the 15 year old ones driven by the "I'm a bad !!! BMW owner but I couldn't afford a better one than this" brigade. They are always driven by retards.0
