Sorry ed. That's a bit rotten not having the same deals.

It's alright MCI, I just dislike the fact that normal people get affected by well-meant rules and regulations that come across as social engineering. We have alcohol problems with certain parts of the population (like any country), but I don't think it was people getting 25% off 6 bottles at Sainsbury's who were causing problems
How are you on this (currently) sunny Sunday?0 -
Quick update.
Meal plan scuppered last night. Had free meal at the neighbours house instead.
MIL has given us another £50 back. So need to transfer and update.
Off to Wales in about an hour to visit friends for the day.
Looks like a socket has blown on the kitchen - DH is bringing his testing gear from work tomorrow to find out what's going on there.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Not too bad thanks ed. Not looking forward to the drive to wales as it always makes me feel yuk (too many twisty roads).
With wales' track record with weather I am sure it won't be sunny for long. :rotfl:
I agree with you about the people who would use the alcohol deals not really beimg the ones at fault. It's more likely to be the cheap amd nasty end of the market.
Hope the sun stays out for you today.

Had a nice time in Wales - it did rain, but we managed to get outside with friends' kids for about 1/2 hour and they had a good run round.
I enjoy seeing the children (and our friends) - we don't get down there as often as we would like (fortunately its only about an hour away).
Have transferred the £50 from MIL to the House Fund and updated signature.
I didn't have as good a clean up as I wanted to on Saturday, but DH has put his tools away - so that's a bonus! I did get all the washing done - which is usually a feat for me, so pleased on that front.
No work done up the allotment this weekend due to weather and being out on Sunday - but planning a few trips this week - weather pending.
Found quite a bit of meat in the freezer when I was rooting around in there on Friday - so don't think I will need to buy any more for the rest of the month.
Charity meeting later (I think!); was going to go out for tea with DH tomorrow, but I think the was his stomach has been and being busy, I think I'm going to book for a mid-month treat for next week (either Monday or Tuesday).
The scallops were really nice on Friday - will be making that one again!
Will hopefully be cooking the Chicken Tagine tonight as it didn't get done over the weekend - so need to crack on and make the sauce when I get home so all I have to do is wang the chicken in a wok, add sauce and heat through - serve with cous cous when I get back from my meeting - job done!
Hope everyone's Monday is going well.

Charity meeting was a bit strained last night - but finished early!
DHs car has been written off! After they have taken his excess off he will get £1300 - not too bad really as it would have cost him loads to get it right for selling and probably wouldn't have made any money on it - so every cloud has a silver lining. He just got to get a new car now!
Going up the allotment tonight for an hour - quite looking forward to it...
DH has told me that he will have another £90 for the House Fund soon - waiting with baited breath!!! lol
£3.99 spent in M&S on food today (for tonight's tea) and need to get bread rolls on the way home (which I should have bought in M&S to save me the trip!)
Trying (once again) to use the jars up in the fridge and have now taken to putting a tsp of curry paste in my lunchtime noodles - mmm delish!
No sauce left from the tagine last night - but have plenty more veggies to make some to freeze.
Tonight, we are having steak pie, pots and veggies.

Woke up feeling carp this morning: sore throat, headache and the sniffs - I am not too bad but its annoyed me more than anything because I am sure its been about 12 months since I last had a cold.
Hopefully I will be able to fight it off and it won't last long!
DH will be loosing his coutesey car today and his insurance is finished, so he can't even drive mine! So the hunt for a new car will begin...I also think that it's rubbish that he doesn't get anything back from his insurance premium even though he's only just paid it in full!!!!
Had an hour up the allotment last night, but wasn't really up for it - the onset of my cold was probably to blame. Managed half a row though - not too bad really - will finish the row off tomorrow - weather pending.
Spent 60p in Mr T last night on 6 granary rolls - lovely with tinned salmon for lunch....
Rant alert: what has happened to small tins of pink salmon??? both Mr T and Herr A have stopped doing them (only red salmon in small tins!) Was not going to spend nearly £3 on a tin of John West Pink Salmon as I can get a big tin from Herr A for £1.99.
Anyway, I bought the big tin and we will be having salmon rolls again tomorrow.
Tonight's tea is Lemon & Bay Roast Chicken, Roast Potatoes and Veggies.
It's Wednesday folks - so we have broken the back of the working week. Yay!!!

Still got a cold - boo! 19 years in my job today...
Have completed my meal plan for the next couple of weeks and hope that I can use some stuff out of the freezer.
Not really feeling up to much at the moment, but going to monitor the weather and see if I can do at least a bit up the allotment tonight. Still waiting for my speedy beetroot seeds to arrive - ordered them 3 weeks ago! Both turnips and leeks are now showing shoots - its very exciting!
DH cooked the Roast Chicken last night - but didn't do the washing up - so got two days worth to catch up on tonight.:(
Dropped DH at work this morning, good job its on my route in anyway so isn't out of my way at all.
Herr A tonight - not much on the list really. Current grocery spends are £143.88 ish (I may be a few pence out) - hoping for a few ££s left at the end of the month to put in the pot.
Got 5 more £ coins to get some more Mr T stamps tomorrow (if I remember to take them with me!) This will nearly complete my card for the year - I only save £50 as I have Clubcard vouchers to add and we spend alot less on Christmas food than we used to. Possibly even less this year due to DH not being able to eat cheese!
Tonight's Tea is LO Chicken and something - either Rissotto or Egg Fried Rice. Will just raid the fridge for ingredients and chuck something together.

Beetroot not that speedy then!
We've got LO chicken tonight too - in baked risotto thanks to Fortune for the recipe.
