Have been down the town and paid the cheque in :).

DH had a call of the garage yesterday and it looks like his car MIGHT be written off after all as they are saying that it will cost well over £2k to fix and its only worth £1500-£1700.

If this does happen then it will be a pain for a while while he gets another car; BUT it will save him spending out to get rid of it. Either way, he's hoping he's got the courtesey till the weekend.

£co payment has left £co - probably be in the bank tomorrow.

Weather is going to be on the turn tomorrow - so getting an hour in up the allotment later - just praying that the weeds don't come up too much when it rains.

Resisted the urge to buy something for lunch today. Brought a ham, tomato and spring onion wholemeal roll with Polish mustard - delish and DH has had Chicken & Tomato wraps with sweet chilli sauce.

Tonight's tea is going to be a Fridgeraiders Egg Fried Rice - going to put the rice on before I go up the allotment, so its ready for frying when I get back.

Herr A shop later - just going to make my list!

    Hope everyone well.

PS MWC shamed me into starting the decluttering in the dining room - a bit done last night, plus sorted the washing and the kitchen.

    Ninth Anniversary

It was a very nice bloke I spoke to and he gave me some information on what I can do to fix Mum's tariff too - need to look at this soon for her as we really don't want the same sort of bills this winter for her.

Just catching up on your news.

My mum gets gas/electric on some kind of fixed price for older people through someone like Age Concern or Saga (can't actually remember who but can find out if you want).

    Glad you're feeling better.

That would be great if you could megela - the bills when dad was still with us were absolutely terrible (£1700 for the winter quarter). I can't let this happen again.

Thanks Ed. Yes, life is taking on a new shape now slowly - still getting used to it.

The allotment is my quiet place where I can think, be outside in the fresh air and get a work out too...:rotfl:

Glad you are enjoying the posts - I am glad they have a much happier tone to them.

  • So, may I begin by saying Happy Friday Everyone!!!!!!!

Went up the allotment last night and my two friends were up there, so we had a nice 1 1/2 hours laughing, chatting and working away - it was great!

Even better - came away with a punnet of Raspberries and another HUGE Courgette.

Going to make Chicken Tagine tomorrow with roasted vegetables, so will make extra sauce with the courgette glut and freeze for another time.

The rain has set in here today and its supposed to rain tomorrow morning - so may get up the allotment tomorrow afternoon.

I am really happy that DH finished the wall before the rain has come.

DH has tidied his tools from the front room into the dining room :rotfl:hopefully they will find their way into the cupboard tonight so I can have a proper clean up tomorrow.

    In MSE news:

£5 received from £co and transferred to the House Fund - will be updating signature shortly.

Herr A shop last night was £13 odd bringing the total this month to £100.29. Mr T later - I have a £5 off £40 shop voucher so good job I am stocking up with wine PLUS Mr T have 25% off 6 bottles:T. Mum wants me to get some washing powder - so that will help towards the £40 spend and I have a £1 voucher for washing powder which will help Mum out :j.

Going to pop to the Mr T petrol station by where I work and top up as we might be going to Wales on Sunday and we will be going in my car as DH still has the courtesy car - BUT I have 5p off a litre of fuel, so will be using that.

Have transferred the money that DH owes me from my other account so my current account isn't depleated.

Pleased to say aswell that my isa generated £546.14 of interest this year :jwhich has been added to the balance (keeping it there so it remains tax free!)

One job for next week is to get my B00ts points that I got when I couldn't find my card put on my account - totalling up now - got about £28! - NEXT WEEK JOB

I also have £16 £ coins to get Mr T savings stamps later - nearly up to date now :rotfl:.

Tonights tea is Fettuccine with Seared Scallops and Procuitto - mmm can't wait to try that recipe out!

So after all these ramblings I wish you all a very good weekend.

  • Reading about MWC's books, Ed's degree in English Literature....

We have so many books - I know I have over 100 cookbooks and 20 years worth of Good Food Mags.

Cookbooks are staying, what to do with the Good Food Mags....?
