Hi GG, Hi Ed - thanks for the new year messages.

So, back to work today and fed up already - you see I wanted something to do, but not come back to work!

    MSE news for today:

£co have confirmed that one of my claims has been accepted and they are now waiting for the cash (£9ish so a nice one).

And just been and bought some pressies in the boots half price sale that I'm going to stash away for throughout the year.

Sent DHs chain back for a refund as it wasn't long enough - will be looking in the sales for a suitable alternative (as he ended up with an IOU for that gift).

Researching a new TV at the moment - we are going to use our Christmas money, our £1 pot and a little bit from the joint savings (not the house fund) - want to get more or less bang up to date as the TV we have now is several generations behind!!!

Got to pop to the shops on the way home to pick up some fruit and yoghurts - but still got treats and snacks LO from Christmas so not a great deal of shopping to be done this week.

Tonights tea will be chicken and prawn egg fried rice - felt like a change and we had a nice meal last night, so just want something quick and easy to prepare after the first day back at work.

Need to do a meal plan for the rest of the month - won't have too much to get though as freezers are full.

Aim is to be less stressed and more organised this year, but this is what I always strive for but it seems to go pear shaped at some stage - probably because I get so tired and then don't leave myself enough time to do things. I can only do my best.

Happy New Year once again to you all and all the best for 2013.

£co have informed me that my claim for Thomson has finally been submitted - prob see the money in about 4 months according to the page on the web site!!! Still, better late than never.

My fixed rate ISA is maturing soon and they have sent me some details of where I can re-invest - only trouble is that I want to add to it and I can't as I've used my ISA allowance for this year and I've got next years waiting in another account!

Might just have to bite the bullet and reinvest what comes out for another year and then I can decide where to put it. This money doesn't exist for me as its a super emergency fund or (dare I say) retirement pot!

£5ish spent at Mr T last night on fruit and yoghurts for lunch boxes - won't need to buy yoghurts next week, but will need a bit more fruit.

Herr A shop due for tonight and got my eye on salad potatoes in super 6 to make Warm Lemon & Basil Potato Salad - lets hope they have got some.

Have started to do my meal plan for this month, but lacking enthusiasm at the moment - at least next weeks meals are sorted.

Tonight's tea will be either HM Spag Bol from the freezer OR Omelette & Salad for DH and fish finger sandwich for me - we will see what DH fancies when we get home tonight.

Have booked a meal for tomorrow night as is customary for us on the first Friday after going back to work - we save our 1p/2p/5p/10p and 20ps all year so we can have a slap up meal. Going to one of our favourite Italian restaurants and I am really looking forward to it.

Happy Thursday everyone...will be the weekend again before we know it.

Thanks Lois - was under sad circumstances, but I am glad to be free, it gives us so many options for the future.

Thanks for sending good luck too - going to need it!

Hugs for the sad circumstances. Hope you are doing OK and have RL people who can be there for you.

What do you have in mind for the next place? Bigger? Nicer area? Both? How much extra do you think you'll need to borrow? And what sort of timescale are you thinking of?
