  • Thanks MRN...yes she's back home (thank God). At least my brother is there to take care of her.

Had a progress report from Dad and she's ok - just a bit wobbly.

Going to pretty much be a non MSE day today - bought lunch from town (DH had last of the cheese for his sandwiches) and we are going out for tea (once I've managed to pack).

Didn't get to do my clubcard exchange either, so missed out there - but need to pop in to see if I can pick up some clothes for DH's goddaughter for Christmas (my goddaughter's sister) - need to get a bit more shopping done before we go away as I can imagine there being nothing left I want once we get back.

Only MSE thing today was I cashed my voucher in for a free card at M&S for mum & dad's anniversary.

  • Thanks megela - I will try to relax - really need it now.

    Last update for a week...

Had a lovely meal out last night...mmmm.

Mum is ok - had update from Dad last night.

Instead of rushing round like a maniac today I have done some of my shopping online - got another 4 presents and the list is getting ticked off nicely.

DH is putting the request in for my prescription (doing the washing up and sorting the washing too!)

Didn't have to finish the policies for the bid (wouldn't have had time anyway), as the funder has said its ok for us to submit it the week I get back with our latest set of accounts which are in the process of being done. Only got half a disciplinary policy and a tweak to a job description to do, so I will do those on the Monday I am back at work.

Clothes are ironed and sitting on the sofa bed in the spare room waiting for DH to get the case down and I'll just quickly pack when I get home - everything is ready, just need to put it in the case.

Going to take my coat back at lunchtime and got to pop to M&S to see if I can get mum and dad's anniversary present (its a foody one - they want some crab, prawns and a crusty loaf!) - if I can't get them from there, its a trip to Mr T or Mr W on the way home.

Hoping I can get off work early again today - will have to see if the boss comes in!

I hope that everyone has a great week - I am sure I'll have loads of catching up to do when I get back.

  • Hi Froggy
    Hi MRN

Had a great time...the hotel was fabulous, absolutely beyond our expectations - if we had been going for two weeks we would have taken advantage of more of the facilities, but what we experienced was fab.

The food was good and varied, wine, beer and soft drinks included with lunch & dinner and they kept coming and filling the glasses up - very drinkable too!

We could book other restaurants in the hotel and this was included too! We only did this once as the buffet meals were so good. We picked the italian and it was great and would have been over 100 euros for the two of us if we had paid!

The buffet meals were, as I said, really good - eggs freshly cooked for breakfast while you wait and the pancakes..... Fresh fish cooked at lunch and dinner, plus stir frys, pasta dishes etc...all done while you wait PLUS an amazing array of other dishes available to sample.

The holiday was really good value, not only because we got a 5 star hotel for a cracking deal, we only spent 20 euros on extra drinks! We did spend a bit on christmas presents (which was already budgeted for anyway) and I treated myself to a 5 euro necklace and a 15 euro bag (last of the big spenders me!). DH also treated me to a charm for my Pandora bracelet - very reasonable too.

So all in all it was a great break that didn't break the bank.

Back to reality now and was feeling a bit upset on Sunday, but feel more focused now and I am ploughing my way through my final tasks before Christmas.

Hope everyone is well and I will do a financial update before the end of the week (get paid early on Thursday this week!).

Need to catch up with the diaries.

    Happy Tuesday everyone!

Glad you had a great time :)
