You wouldn't have thought so Saturday morning! I was a mess. I promised myself that I wasn't going to get upset - but DH asked me if I was alright and it all came flooding out.
Timing has never been my strong point.
However, managed to get myself together and we had a lovely day with the family.
Feeling better now and more on an 'even keel'.

So, I actually have a bit of money news.
The bad news. Added up income, medical benefit, dividend, tax voucher and interest off accounts for 2013-14 and I am £300ish over the threshold!!! What a pain in the B*M. So now I have got to do a tax return. I don't for one moment think that I actually owe any money, but it's just a pain because now I'll have to keep doing one forever!
The good news x 2. Tax refund of £24.60! Really shocked, but I had overpaid tax on my medical benefit. And interest on one of my accounts (tax-free) £247.33. £100 being transferred to the House Fund and the rest to the emergency fund. I have decided that I will add £14.60 of the tax refund to the House Fund and save £10 to treat DH and I to a dine in for £10 next time there is one on.
Really must do a proper total for my emergency fund so I know exactly where I stand.
I reckon that I will also be paying in some more 50ps next week.
After having quite a spendy weekend - out on Friday night with cousins and out all day on Saturday for BIL's graduation - I've managed to sort a meal plan for this week.
Tonight's offering is a favourite of salmon with cream and dill sauce, pasta and broccoli - can't wait (even though I've just eaten my lunch!)
Hope everyone is well and had good weekends.

PS Also, harvested first of the runner beans, 3 tomatoes and 1 LARGE courgette from the allotment and a large quantity of Rhubarb from my mums.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

That's a bit of a nuisance being over the tax threshold.... It almost makes you wish you earnt a bit less!
I watch my tax affairs like a hawk, as they can't be trusted to get it right.
As I have I come for a job and a pension, they find it difficult to cope with two incomes, and I'll be very surprised if they manage to get it right when I stop work.
I will end up below the tax threshold, so I'm looking forward to getting my interest tax freeEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Probably the most annoying thing is that you have to add the tax voucher from the dividend into your income when that wasn't income you actually received but what the company paid in tax! Without that I would have been comfortably below.
Oh well, at least I have experience of doing tax returns as I do my MILs, but that doesn't mean I want to do more!
I agree with you about them not being able to get things right - received a letter from the charities department of HMRC (for our charity) that said that we have only been registered as exempt from tax since last year! When I have a letter from 2003 saying that we have - another mess to sort out!
I bet you are looking forward to not paying any tax - how wonderful!

Menu plan continues and we have Tagine Style Chicken with cous cous tonight.
Will be spending a bit later in the week as I am putting on a buffet lunch on Friday at work as I have been there for 20 years.
I am sad to say that for convenience I will be getting pre-made stuff - M and S for some things (they do have some very good deals on picky bits like quiche and sausage rolls); plus a few things from Mr T and Herr A for the rest - got to get the right mix of quality for our lot and the right price for me - looking at £30-£35 to feed 10 people - I don't mind - it's not often you mark an anniversary like this.
