Got to do a bit of jiggling about with money from the joint account. DH has been buying stuff to do some jobs and so I need to get that money transferred and then instead of giving it to DH it will come to me for the breakdown cover!!!

Haven't made my deposits yet - going to do all things financial tomorrow.

Big shop on the cards at Mr T tonight - approx £40 spent at Herr A last night. Freezers are still fairly full and need to get more focused on that meal planning again.

Weekend approaching and I am really glad. Not enjoying work at all at the moment. But its a means to an end.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Money jiggling done.

Finally using our new joint account for the house fund - just in the process of moving the bulk of the money from one (through my current account) to the other and as soon as I have paid those 50ps in we will have a little over £21k!

Was having a discussion with my work colleague yesterday and we were talking about money. I said to her about my fear of not having enough money, even though I know in my heart of hearts I that I am ok for cash. She says that she feels the same and that once you have that cushion, you just want to see it grow more - it's not a greed thing, it's a security blanket - so perhaps I am a little insecure about my life and what it holds...

On a lighter note - just got drenched doing the ice bucket challenge!

  • What a beautiful day its turning out to be! Outside, while I'm stuck in the office...intending to go out at lunchtime so I can catch some rays!

Stage 2 of getting the house fund into the higher interest account has taken place today - unfortunately, can only move £20k per day, so will have to wait till tomorrow to move the remaining £633.15 and DHs regular deposit of £50 (and maybe if I get the 50ps paid in at lunchtime I will transfer another £20).

Groceries came in at £34 at Mr T on Friday and only spent £0.58 on milk since.

Beginning to feel a little like my old self again - food is starting to interest me again and hope that I am well on the road to both recovery and positivity. Also started doing yoga to help with the stress levels.

Made a Cottage Pie last night (2 portions for the freezer) and a Turkey and 3 bean chilli - 5 portions in all - 2 for an evening meal and 3 smaller ones for me to take for lunch over the next few weeks.

Fish is on the menu later - not quite sure what I'm doing with it yet, but got some nice flavourings in the cupboard I can use.

  • Fish supper went out the window - had burger instead and it really hit the spot!

Final transfers made this morning - only £19.50 worth of 50ps as the machine spat one back out at me. Also transferred DHs £50 and I will get that back from the joint account later. Need to update signatures with the latest deposits.

  • I like the fact that our deposit savings are now over £21k! That was my second stage target and is the 'preferred' amount for moving. Onwards to the 'ideal' amount £30k.

Roast chicken dinner with all the trimmings tonight (including HG Cabbage from the allotment). Even though I've just had a chicken salad for lunch, really looking forward to my gravy dinner tonight.

    Hope things improve soon. :-)

A feeling of security is always a bit of a moveable feast. You get one target and then think "oh maybe another month's worth"... ;-)

Thanks catshark - I think you have hit the nail on the head there!

I think that we wait to be secure with everything, we will never do anything and have the potential to miss opportunities.

  • Friday yay!

Feeling okish today and really glad it's nearly the weekend.

Got some nice things going on - out with my cousins and aunty & uncle tonight and at BILs graduation tomorrow PLUS BILs girlfriend is officially pregnant (they have kept it quiet because of previous miscarriages - but went for 3 month scan yesterday and all ok).

At last...some joy for the family.

No money news, apart from managed to sell something of Dad's for mum that has netted £150 (going round to give her that tonight).

Probably going to be a spendy weekend, but it won't impact on our plans so all ok!

    Have good weekend all.
