  • Freezer surprise was really a surprise - sausage pasta sauce! Had with some pasta and garlic bread.

Got a lot of charity stuff on my mind. Our Temporary Project Worker's fixed contract comes to an end this week and we have given her till the end of next week - but we just can't afford to keep her on. It's catch 22; need a driver, but can't afford one!

I think I will feel better when everything is in place for fundraising on the run up to Christmas - difficult to fit everything in when you work full time and being awake at this time in the morning doesn't help. (Though I try not to do anything too important when I'm awake like this as I am prone to making mistakes).

Posting on here has been a real help.

Definitely staying in at lunchtime tomorrow to see what I can get done charity wise.

Still waiting for payday so can move money around - won't have much left this month as had to pay out a lot more on petrol from when DH has had no car. He normally does the driving when we go anywhere - my reasoning is - he gets paid more than I do and he gets a car allowance and mileage from work. I am probably about £60 down. At least he now has his new car and we can get back to normal on that front.

  • I am absolutely shattered. I managed to catch an hours sleep before getting up this morning, but I had a dream about my Dad which really upset me.

Not only have I been tired today, but I have been feeling the strain of everything. Work has also been exceptionally busy - great! just when I feel carp!

DH is currently in the kitchen cooking up our Cottage Pie Dinner - gave him instructions and I have been banned from the kitchen.

On the positive side I have ordered Raffle Tickets and put our Christmas Fair on Stallfinder. Going to tackle v!sta pr!nt tomorrow lunchtime.

Have started a spreadsheet to keep track of the money I have in my 'other' current account - it contains some of my Mums money, my funds for car expenses, Christmas, birthdays, clothes etc... and my 'slush' fund from my inheritance - going to loose track and waste money if I don't keep a better record of it.

Found a couple of jars of homemade mincemeat in the back of the cupboard from last year - they are fine - will be using them up first. Have organised some of my spices and used beautiful botanical jars that were from family friend's house.

Getting there slowly - really need to stay focused to get through the next few weeks - taking a break tonight and will hopefully be more positive and refreshed tomorrow.

  • After about 2 hours wresting with v!sta pr!nt I have ordered the charity 2 banners and 100 postcards - got a discount, but still expensive - I will be donating these from my inheritance money.

At least its another thing ticked off the list.

Now, I am patiently waiting for payday to do the money shuffle.

Tonight's tea will be Farmhouse Style Chicken Casserole (or pink chicken as we call it) - using up leftovers and some chicken I found in the freezer.

    Wednesday folks...!

  • Crikey MCI, I'd completely forgotten it's the middle of the week

Well done with the list, it certainly helps the focus :)

  • Amazing how time flies Tilly:)

    Pay Day:j

After working out what's coming out of what pot for what (and still forgetting my Mr Next a/c:mad:doh!), I have done the money shuffle.

£40 left in the current a/c, so half to savings, half to house fund.

    Total to house fund £343:j

I have £20 in 50ps to pay in and still need to pay my premium bonds in (which will come of my Mr Next bill). Job for next week? or tomorrow?...be better if I did it tomorrow - lets see how the weather is:D

From December DH will be putting extra in the online saver as his mum's loan he took out on her behalf will be finished and the money will now go to pay what MIL wanted to pay us back for the funeral - going to need to be firm with her as regards how much she's going to pay back!!!

All in all its been a spendy month and next month will be no better really with all the presents, cards etc..to buy (and my jeans :rotfl:).

Have looked at a few instant saver accounts for the House Fund, but haven't made any decisions yet - head has been full of other stuff.

Starting the big shop tonight, got my list for chutney ingredients and now need to make my list for us:rotfl:.

Tonights tea is fish with creamy pesto (bit in the fridge) sauce and cherry toms (now ripened on the window sill).

Off to update signature and sort out the money for Mr Next.

  • Mr Next account paid and some more purchases added. I haven't bought any new stuff for ages, so treating myself. Of course I've got cashback.

DH has been called out to an emergency for work - block of flats are flooded and have got no power - so he's gone to sort some lighting out for them - tea could be a little late tonight!

Had a couple of trick or treaters, but nothing major - left oveers can be used for lunch boxes.

Starting my food spend diary again - Herr A tonight was £37.93 - I've stocked up with different sugars for chutney and cake making, got my baking paper too and I think my cupboard is going to be slightly full of tins!

    Happy Halloween everyone!
