  • Evening all,

Just painted my toenails in Maybelline Express Finish in Pearl, as I used a face pack last night. I actually only used this to see if I liked the colour, as I'm not keen on the look of it in the bottle( it was received as a gift). I'm still not keen on the colour on my toenails, but it could work on fingers, so will try that next time I paint them and either keep or give the colour to my sis.

I've also just sorted out some make-up that I'm going to use in the next couple of days to see if I want to keep it or get rid of it. Have suddenly got the urge to declutter! :A
  • Forgot to add, 1 item binned while looking through the stash: Collection 2000 Maxiflex in Apricot Glow. This had separated and gone all runny.
    Still no UUs though!
  • Celebrate – I understand exactly where you are coming from constantly thinking about the offers, but well done for resisting the drive to Lloyds. I would look into ebay as can imagine that could get quite addictive selling things and it’s always a good feeling when you have sold them and got them out of the house and your stash, this might help take your mind off the impulse buying.

Lynseydee – hope you enjoy Holby and your feeling better about things.

Hope everyone who has been ill is getting better and those on the naughty step aren’t on there for long. Am loving this thread so friendly x

Celebrate well done for resisting the temptations today. Tell me though, considering you know you don't need to buy anything, and you already have more products (particularly perfume) than you could ever dream of using up, probably in your lifetime, what is the reasoning behind wanting to go and buy more. Interested to see if you can put it into words, and I wonder whether if you can, reading it back might make you go "Doh!" and realise how daft it is? :)

This giving up crisps for lent thing will lead to no good you know - why would anyone want to GIVE UP crisps?!! :rotfl:

I have noticed a couple of people saying they don't have masks or scrubs so for you I am going to suggest doing something that you haven't done for a while that you think will make you feel better.

I think mine will be painting my toenails, as that's the only thing beauty-wise that I haven't done for ages (I scrub my face every day and don't have any face masks). Colour will be Essie Lollipop, a lovely red I got by mistake in my polish order from the US the other day.

Have you guys started without me???????

Been running around like a mad woman sorting the kids, done the vacuum, ironing, cooking for the rest of the week, tidying, washing.......kids now all tucked up in bed....and i'm flopped on the bed to exhausted to pamper myself!!!

Whimper... I love drinking chai, I didn't know it had made it in to a shower gel. I'm like Celebrate, a bit naive.

Celebrate - just a thought, is it possible for you to ease your burdens by employing a cleaner for an hour or two a week? (Mine's c9ming tomorrow! :j )

OI CHEEKY!!!! whos calling MOI naive????????????

yes i have tried several cleaners, they all hated me and left, i have analysed that one and have come to the follwoing conclusions....

    1. I trust no-one
    2. I felt I had to clean up before the cleaner came
    3. I felt I had to "help" the cleaner or she would think i was lazy
    4. I gave them jobs they didn't lik doing, like washing the drains or the bins or the oven yuk!!
    5. None of them measured up to my mum and she would often just pop round while the cleaner was here to give them some really difficult tasks to do!!

so you've convinced me i'm going to have a quck bath and open one of my new 5for 4/3 for 2 minis (s&g and sanctuary .... yes my first time with these products wish me luck!!)

Plus, if I can give up crisps for 40days then I definitely have the will power to STOP BUYING TOILETRIES!! And use up my beautiful stash :)

Ok well I think its a combination of factors

Firstly I have always denied myself luxuries although my OH and I are both earning well we live a very basic life, we never go out, don't spend extravagantly on clothes etc. Fragrances have always been a big luxury item for me- i remember my husband buying me once a romance gift set and I nearly killed him for spending so much. It nearly killed me more to open the darned thing and use it.

Secondly I really struggled to get any fragrances in the online lloyds sale and when i managed to get loads last week in on of the shops i don't know why but it did give me a bit of a buzz.

Thirdly I have other issues...long story... I was just thinking actually earlier today how I need to slow down......I'm always on the hunt for baragins or there is something else going on in my life. My life is one big rush, rush, rush. I don't remember the last time I had a bath/soak, I don't remember the last time I spent longer than 10 secs on my make up or 30secs in the shower.

I know I spend alot of my time angry with myself, my husband for being a lazy using toad shirking his responsibilities, my kids for constantly whining and seeing me as the bad guy and daddy as the hero, my partners at work for being such egotistal ar**s, my sister and mum for expecting so much of me.

The shopping is for "ME" and it gives me a warped pleasure. I also like giving gifts and helping people which is why i think i'm in the job i'm in but I do get upset easily as often it is taken for granted that i will give nice or expensive gifts and get tat back in return.

ok off to have a quick shower, see you in a mo:)

Well I have just finished my CTM and scrub and have to say I feel a lot better, in fact I nearly put it off as I'm having a bit of an off day.

But I am glad I perservered and made myself do it as I can now declare a uu :j My face scrub I have decided is finished. I probably would have got a few more uses if I gave it a harder squeeze/cut the tube open but I think I have enough face scrubs without worrying about scraping out the inside.

Hope everyone else's pamper evenings have gone well. It will be nice to hear what everyone has been up to.
