Morning all!
Nothing important to report really, still on that chocolate shower gel that's lasted over a year...Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -
Finally sent my Give and Make Up parcels - it had to go as two lots but I'm now up to 32 OUTs for the year! :j So I'm tentatively upping my target to have 35 OUTs by the end of March, which is ambitious but doable...in your experience how long do lotions and potions last before they are unusable or embarrassing to give as presents
Depends when/if they're open - a lot of them say 12-18 months from opening (if you look on the side there will normally be a picture of what looks like a pot of product with the lid half off and a number on the pot) but I generally go on the 'looks OK, smells OK, feels OK, it's OK' rule so you can get things lasting for up to two years in my view. Lush are notorious for doing short dates because of the fresh ingredients but then the stuff still being fine months later.
I personally wouldn't give away anything that I'd used more than once as a present or to something like Give and Make Up, but again I'd go with the 'if you haven't opened it it's probably all right' rule.I saw a Cosmo kabuki in Bodycare yesterday as well. Would have gone back for it had I been on my own but MrM was really whinging that "we have come out here for nothing" so didn't bother. The annoying thing is that I have a kabuki already (wanted a spare to put in my handbag) which I got form NO7 but you can only get it with the mineral blush and I've already chucked that out because it was so highly pigmented no matter how careful I was I ended up looking like Aunt Sally. Will have a nosey in Mr T's thanks.
If you don't find one in Tesco, I think I have an unused Body Shop kabuki lurking from when I bought mineral foundation so can look that out for you this week if you want?"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Finally I have sorted my 7 yr old DD's hair problem out, solid coconut oil. Have applied it after towel drying her hair, just a tiny bit, and now we can comb it through everyday without screaming at each other. Her hair looks fab, very shiny and when I comb it is silent IYKWIM, before it was rustly and dry.
Friend of mine with the thickest, frizziest hair you can imagine has to use this and has done so for years. Isn't it great that something so simple produces such good results?Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

Totally agree, coconut oi is great, I sometimes use it as a pre shampoo treatment and it works really well. Cheap too! I really don't know why I bother buying and trying so many different hair masks!
One UU - Sanctuary Spa toner - lovely, have two more in the stash! Now onto a L'oreal gel tonerI want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -
sunshineyday wrote: »As someone else wisely pointed out there will always be another offer or glitch so instead of stocking up why don't you save the money you would have otherwise spent on toiletries, that way you'll have the cash if you need it
Fingers crossed this won't happen and your job will be safe, xx
uu a Clarins foundation that have had for ages and is now too light after getting a tan on holiday so hopefully would not use till next winter!only a bit left and fed up of seeing it.

Hello everybody. Finally caught up. Ditched my pink/crackle nails Saturday, and painted them with my new Barry M blue shade. Didn't have much time so it was one coat and it's already chipping. Lovely colour but looks like the kind of colour that will stain nails, so if time permits tonight I'll remove it and do base, colour and top coat and post pic.
UUs (Finally!!):
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: WIBA? I don't think it's quite what my skin needs yet, maybe in a few years when I'm older and I need something of that texture. My sister bought it for me as a set with the Eye Repair (still going strong). I was using it morning & night to use it so could move happily back to my Estee Lauder Idealist Refinishing Serum (my HG serum - and one in stash from a gift time purchase in Jan).
Cutex Nail Polish Remover 100ml - WIBA? Yes. Already have one on the go in a larger bottle.
Splutterers: Clinique Eye Makeup Remover, Estee Lauder Daywear Plus & Givenchy Very Irresistible
My Elemis Toner is still going strong
My sister swears by coconut oil, it's always been used on our hair since we were kids!
Had a voucher through in the post from B**ts for £1 (I think) off the new Nivea Pure range. So might be tempted by that. And the voucher in the H&B magazine for the new Black & White (maybe I made that name up) deodorant. Although I have 3/4 Sure Naturals in stash from bulk buying a pack of 6 from Costco. No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60
