Welcome Horse76! You've joined a lovely, friendly supportive crowd - you are absolutely right about seeing things down in black and white acting as deterrent and wake - up call.
Stash -building is so easy isn't it - an offer catches our eye, our hand reaches out and we never ever think about whether we actually need it ... then we join this thread and give the toiletry aisles a WIDE berth!
I have a full sized UU :j Schwarzkopf Gliss Colour Shine and Protect Shampoo 250ml. :j
WIBA? Next year, perhaps! But hopefully by then I will have realised the Error of My Ways and be down to one bottle of shampoo and one Lush or other make shampoo bar. It's an ok shampoo but goodness knows how they can justify a claim like '150% more shine'. Did they measure light refraction?
Its chief attraction was that it was either 99p in Home Bargains or £1 in Poundland, if I'm honest.:o
So now I have about 800 ml of shampoo left spread across a bog-standard Tesco Frequent Use Herbal, an Elvive for weak, lifeless hair, an Alberto VO5 I can never remember the name of but it has rosemary and is in a green bottle with a dispensing top that falls off very easily and my Karma Lush bar. Plus the OS for Men 2 in 1 Hair and Body that was too feminine (Orange and Ginger) for my son.
With me being a bit of a free samples addict I am sure that this will last the year.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... The Body Shop have just sent me an email offering me (as a Love Your Body card holder) a free bottle of their new eco-friendly shower gel. Thankfully none of the fragrances sound that nice anyway and as it's a new line no doubt it'll still be around when my shower gels are used up, so I'm not getting one even though it's no spend. I may have to remain strong though as the last time they brought in one of these new eco-friendly lines they phased out the old one, so I've got to resist buying up the current shower gels if that happens!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Hello my good chums!
No sign of the Glamour mag - we'll - er I mean- you'll have to hang on till tomorrow- was looking at the prices - bet the £18 moisture surge thirst relief is like Rocking Horse Sh*t to find as a giveaway!! :rotfl: I imagine there being billions of the cheap items....or am I being too cynical.....EDIT some people on the Grabbit board are saying they have picked up the mag already in the supermarkets....
Anyway, whilst i was in the area, popped into Boots (there is really not much else to do around here). Avoided the smellies, poo pooed the No. 7 stuff, and the clearance section was rubbish except suncream but I'm holidaying in Devon this year with my bestie who has a beach hut, so sure I won't need that. But could not say no to a lovely pink hot water bottle for £3.20 which is a quarter of the original price. Now I know this isn't toiletries but a few people on here are poorly so may appreciate these. There are a few different colours - pink or green striped and this one - only the pink fluffy one didn't seem to scan with the discount so I put that back- I know they do a white fluffy one but they didn't have that so not sure of that price.
And I paid in pointsSo technically I'm still a NIL spend on 'stuff' for March although I am still hoarding....well, one problem at a time! :rotfl:
Here's a pic to brighten you your desktop and alleviate my boredom! It won't put the actual image on here - does anyone know why?

Minerva_windsong- I didn't get the BS email but someone posted it on the grabbit - I had similar thoughts to you - it didn't look that nice and sigh, yet more shower gel/BS offers - think I'm in BS fatigue!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -

Remember - do you really NEED this item before you purchase it....:A
Post lunch walk edit - still can only see the old mag- no sign of the new one. Maybe it's out in bigger stores or NI.....sorry for giving anyone false hope...0 -

- Moisture surge thirst relief 30ml - £18
of course the one I want is the most expensive:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:bet they have loads of the cheap ones tho:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
I'm wondering about this?? I assume this price refers to a moisturizer which would be sold as 50ml but I saw some pic of this offer on a blog and the pic they showed was of a moisture surge spray. If it's that wouldn't it be valued at less than £18? I'm not hugely familair with clinique products apart from the famous 3 step.

My quest to stop buying is near impossible though - I have a bodycare in town and they sell brand stuff for sooo cheap I just cannot resist buying things, on top of that I now have this groupon voucher to spend for the BodyShop and I also have a bleeding £10 shopping voucher that can be used in the likes of boots - although I supose technically they won't count as 'spending' but I just simply don't need anymore! - Me and OH both have a 2 big draw bed side cabinets, his are filled with underwear mine is filled with toiletries, except Ive got sooo much the rest is sitting in bags on the bedroom floor, in the bathroom, on the mantlepiece, hiding in the cupboard under the stairs>>>I need helpMFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

I don't think the new Glamour is out until tomorrow.
juliebunny - totally agree about Body Shop fatigue! I think it's because other than shower gel I buy very little from there - the rest of it all seems too overpriced, although I've liked their skincare when I've tried it and am very tempted by the Vitamin E body butter when I need more body cream and if there's a decent offer - so at the moment it has zero appeal for me."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
My son just made me laugh. I asked him if he could sort out some of his stash that is cluttering up the bathroom windowsill. He was washing his hands at the kitchen sink at the time, We have a foaming hand wash at the sink and he described it thus... "That thing must be like a portal into Narnia inside the bottle, it must hold litres... I've used it hundreds of times and it STILL isn't expletive used up."
I think it's a L'Oreal children's hand wash -bought several years ago for my grandchildren but still going strongErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again...
