Don't think I'm really getting this DTD thing either, seems like it is too time consuming if you want more than a couple of quid back, I'm too blooming lazy for all that faff.

Same here vivh - though I've seen some people have made huge savings!! Just a pity for me that it means a special trip to our nearest tesco (morrisons, asda and sainsburys are all closer) and the battle to find a carparking space as its often full

Did someone ask about eye liner recently of have I imagined that.If they did here goes... I used to have the same problem with it making my eyes look smaller but now I use it everyday. The trick for me was not to put it on the inside of my lower lid but just along the bottom lash line, make sure the pencil is thickish and not sharp and pointy, and only go to from the outer edge to the middle. I use No7 amazing eyes pencil in brown and it has a smudger at one end so you get a nice smudgy look rather than an 80's throwback look.

Excellent advice! I use eyeliner daily as on the few occasions I havent bothered people either tell me they didnt realise my eyes were so small or that I'm piggy eyed!!!! (do pigs have small eyes???????)

I do actually put mine across the whole of the undereye lashes in black, but putting it on the outer edge is meant to open the eye better (I did this before I wore glasses).

Amazing UUs Flirtini - you used a whole UD pencil? My shortest one is about 1.5" and next shortest is travel-sized :D

Hi Sawan, thanks! I felt so pleased with myself for having a good clear out... erm... so pleased that I 'accidentally' went ahead and purchased the Aveda shampoo and conditioner I've been coveting as it'll fit in all that ready prepared space... yeah, right (rolls eyes!)

Back on the naughty step for me! But I did buy my lovely mum some mini kerastase products as her hair is thinning awfully due to age and illness, and thought it might be worth a try.

To your original question - pretty much, yep. It had passed 'travel-sized' and was down to a stub that you could just about use but was just short enough to be fiddly and not easy to apply, so I figured that was enough. Plus, I'd had it about 2 or 3 years, so it must have been retirement age! Hate to admit, most of my eye-makeup is much older than the 3 months you're supposed to keep it - is that really bad? I often wonder how strictly that rule should be kept to...

How's everyone else doing today? xx

I meant to say that, the Aveda on lookfantastic is a good deal. My sister uses it when she can afford it and in store the highest reduction we've ever seen is 10% on 'discount' days.

As for makeup age. I can safely say mine varies in age, no more than 7 years old I think. But I definitely don't (and wouldn't) change it every 3 months. I think the 3 months applies to mascara only though & 12 months for eyeshadows?? If it looks ok, and feels ok, I use it :D

Thanks Sawan, that's really good to know. Aveda is a relatively new one on me, so having never really looked for it before, I wasn't sure how good a discount you can usually get.

I was tempted to get some from Liberty's (that lovely store on Regent's Street, oh the temptations of London!) as they sent me a £15 off voucher - but it was a £100 minimum spend and I thought that might get me well and truly tied to the naughty step! :D Plus, the one other expensive item I wanted (Chanel Chance body lotion, shhh!) they didn't have so it wasn't worth it in the end.

Once I've gotten my stash down to normal levels, I definitely think I'll treat myself and start a core collection of products I love :D and will use - i.e. having the chanel perfume and the body lotion to match, having Aveda (or equivalent) haircare so long as I feel it's making a difference and I'm sparing with it - some things I'm happy buying cheap, shower gel etc, but I think it's then my feeling guilty about spending more on the items that to me make a difference and actually are worth spending on, that then makes me buy lots of budget products to try instead that I'm never happy with - hence the stash... Turns into a false economy I guess!

Just re-read that back and I'm not sure if it makes sense or not... Prize if you can understand my ramblings!! :rotfl:

    Hi,

I didn't get the mug thing either for ages.:o

I have painted my nails with the Barry M black crackle over No7 Pink Grapefruit and i'm not sure if i like it or not. My Son does though he noticed as soon as i picked him up from school and spent the whole walk home stroking my nails and asking how i got them like that.:D

I have an out to declare the No7 nail varnish in nougat has been given to my Niece. I still can't get rid of those tampons though no one uses them.

I also have an in to declare my Sister picked up the Benefit lemon aid when she went shopping yesterday to the big big Boots, OH is going to give me the money back and i'll have it for Mother's day. :D We did use a little bit to test on my Sister, i had make up on so it wouldn't have worked on me. We could tell the difference on the before and after eyes.:T

I have a splutterer too my S&G Glad hair day, i'm not happy about this spluttering because i love it. I think this may be my HG once i've used up all the rest of the shampoo.
