I wouldn't even mention it to them. It just confuses the issue. (The issue being that the item is not as described).

Neither would I, but it might be a giveaway if it is cold inside when they come to collect it.

Out of curiosity, I looked silver up in the free encyclopedia and found this:
Interesting: "Silver is the metallic shade of the color gray closest to that of polished silver."

I think the word that you should have highlighted in your post is "metallic"?

I agree. Wasn't my highlights - just copied and pasted. I also found other sites speaking about silver colour and other sites saying silver is a shade of gray. Lawyers could make a fortune arguing this one.

also my partner tried to turn the doors around and they would not fit at all they other way, there was a huge gap on the freezer and we had to turn them back.

Did he think that'd make them look more silvery? ;)

Seriously, why on earth did you start dismantling something you didn't even want to keep? :o (I realise some f/freezers have reversible doors but evidently the user manual didn't say this was possible).

As others have already said you have the DSR and Argos guarantee but your case is made considerably more difficult having used it and messed around with it by taking the doors off! Hopefully there's no evidence of you doing this - don't worry about the packaging - otherwise you'll have a lot harder job convincing them to take it back.

There are different shades of silver, our Servis FF is called silver but more a greyey silver than bright silver was you expecting it to be something like a silver teaset ?

Dosent matter what argos say, if it was bought online then the distance selling regulations come into play giving you 7 days to inspect the goods, unfortunately you are responsible for the cost of return
