Went to bank earlier to do a PAD and they claimed they needed full bags of coins. Grrrr.Debt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)

That's ridiculous, who do you bank with??? It's your money and you have every right to pay into your account, regardless of what form it is in! I feel incensed on your behalf! :mad:LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

Santander. I tried to push it too but they were having none of it. Ah well. I'll keep trying the banks, meanwhile saving the pennies in a bag.
I'm very tempted to try to get a loan to pay off the Lloyds (I just want to be shot of it to be honest). I've worked out that even if I overpay £340 (this won't be doable every month) a month for 4 years I'd end up paying £5000 in interest (even if the APR stays the same). If I can get a 7.9% loan over 4 years it would only cost me £1700 in interest, costing about £240 a month to service.
What does everyone think I should do?Debt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)

I think this is only ok if you are 100% sure you will not run the cards up again under any circumstances!
Also, how do you feel about being tied to a set payment for 4 years? I like the flexibility of being able to pay only the minimum payment when it's a tight month, or more when I have it.
Obviously only you know what is right for your situation
