You exceeded an agreed level of borrowing you pay for it.
are you mentally deficient? - i do not give a flying f**k about their ability to charge fees - my problem is with the 15 minute interview to get a £100 overdraft. It should be a 1 second yes or no answer.0 -

the bank can do what it likes. if i like it, i will stay with them, if i don't, i will leave them (when it suits me). but, in the meantime, i am perfectly entitled to voice my opinion that a 15 minute interview for a lousy 100 quid is OTT and not acceptable. I will leave this bank. BUT I AM STILL ENTITLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PRACTICE.
You are also entitled to complain about the weather if you want. It's !!!!ing down here so should I start a new thread?0 -

Over the years I haven't often done likewise when a customer just isn't worth the hassle of dealing with. In the main because they are either rude to a staff member or border on arrogance in there attitude.0 -

You should give a daffy duck about their ability to charge fees so as to avoid incurring them."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
!!!!!! is all that about?0 -

A man of means doesn't get into tangles with direct debits and overdraft charges- that kind of financial illiteracy is for the DFW board.
Someone who incurrs such fees presumably triggers the sort of sales pitch interview you encountered- so they can flog you a consolidation loan or credit card in order to make more money out of you. I think it's called capitalism. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -
and how many minutes have you wasted by moaning and whinging about it instead of just doing it?The_White_Horse wrote: »my problem is with the 15 minute interview to get a £100 overdraft. It should be a 1 second yes or no answer.0 -
get your finances in order mate, then maybe they won't need to interview you!0

i knew there were a lot of morons on this site - but i didn't realise how many were on this board.
can you not see, that if a bank, is willing to conduct an interview of 15mins length (if not more) for a lousy £100 when that customer has a significant amount in savings accounts with that same bank (as well as other banks) then the world has gone mad - credit is still severely restricted and house prices will fall. that is the relevance to this site.0 -

How does your bank know that you don't have a shedload of debt with other banks/card issuers ?."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

Why are you going over your overdraft limit if you have 'significant amount in savings'?
I think your making all this up.0
