  • hey zipee, good luck, if you are getting a lot of grief your MP will assist you o write a letter, they have a MP hotline too so resolve thing so quickly, call them tom, check and then call back again if you dont think they are right. I spoke to 3 yesterday 1 was useless (nice but useless) the other 2 were great.

£13 pw doesnt sound enough to me but then Im not au fait with Tax credit amounts, their web site does have a calculator tho so type in a few things and see what you get?

    Hi there.

There's a thread somewhere about PPI. Loads of people are cancelling, but more importantly, there's a significiant number who have successfully claimed back all the PPI premiums they have paid in over the years - and these figures have amounted to £1000s. They stated they had been mis-sold for various reasons. See if this applies to you?

Re energy bills - I just transferred through Martin's link on here and saved about £400 a year. DO THE SAME NOW! :o How dare they laugh when you are so upset.

(As an aside, before I switched, my DD were £88 per month for G&E. They wanted to ALMOST DOUBLE it to £157. I phoned up and said I was about to shop around as double was unacceptable. They agreed to £116 - I still switched)

If you seek help, (but not from the consolidation people), I think you can get the interest frozen - paying the minimum amount will take forever.

The very best of luck to you.:o

Thanks everyone for your replies, Been to the jobcenter they can't help me with any benefits H earns to much. The Child tax credit stuff we get is correct also (boohoo).

I'm still looking around for G&E but because I have a large bill on the elec, I can't switch because I can't afford to paye the end bill..

Hopefully if we go through with the CCCS then I will put the DD up a little so we can pay a bit more off.
  • Well you have made a start, well done for double checking you are getting the right amounts, even though you wont get any more at least you did something to make sure.

I cant remember now but were you trying to get back to work, or were you already? I know its not a great suggestion, but lots of shops are launching sale early this year, perhaps get a temp job over xmas and jan sales?

I am trying to get back to work, all my local town shops keep telling me they are not recruiting temp or permenant, the jobcenter boards are sparse for where I am, the trouble is there is more people looking for work in this part of kent than there are jobs..

    Thanks for replying again. xx
  • How about Clarks? They have brough their sale forward giving staff only a few days notice, and my friend is rushed off her feet wanting someone just to cover xmas (we are in the SW tho) Why not just pop in and say you want to work over xmas and see what they say? Just a thought, but as a retail manager myself before i had the brats, I would have thought shops would be crying out for the staff...

Job hunting is hard I know my OH is currently temping, saying that he got a job within 2 days after registering with an temp agency.

Also are you doing all the clickable sites like mutualpoints - it takes a long time but I guess every little helps?
