Does a child really want a card from some stranger? What do you put in it?

these kids love getting post from anyone! some write back to say thankyou, others can't manage it, but that's fine. Don't expect too much and it is not so bad. There is one little girl, I forget her name, but she insists on replying to each and every person that writes to her!

What to write about? Different things. I read the child's profile and see what they say they like, what their interests are. For Valentines, I tried to tailor the card to each kid's individual likes. I did some, as they were anonymous, with the "band" that the child liked, inside, so it looked like they had sent it. Probably wrong to do that, but hey if it made that child smile, I don't care.

Some kids like animals, so if you have pets, or know someone with pets, like 3Dogs, you can write about their pets. That cheers them up.

If they like Ben10, ok, my DS is to young and I won't let him watch it, as too violent for him, but I would google Ben10 and then write something after reading google.

You can tell them what music you like listening to, talk about the programs on TV, like Britain's got talent, etc.

Doesn't necessarily have to be an essay, some kids just like opening post and receiving things. :)

I'd do it for the older ones.
There is a chap on there having to sit his GCSE's and go through all of that while being on the donor waiting list, and just what you have to go through being a teenager. That must be awful.

Adam’s biggest problem still remains the amount of time he spends each day on his drips. It means he doesn't see his friends much (only twice this month)

How sad. Would it come across a bit peado? A girl of 24 sending some bloke a card?

Yes, it is very humbling reading their stories.

you don't have to tell him your age, and it is not p word. this is like having a penpal, without knowing each other's ages, etc. I mean you can't talk to him about going clubbing, but you can talk about things like the weather, the spring flowers, the ducks on the duckpond, football, cricket, rugby, if he likes sports, you can keep it general without having to discuss age 24 stuff.

See Adam C likes fast cars, top gear, two and a half men.

I like fast cars, used to watch top gear, not keen on two and a half men. But I could write to him about cars and top gear.

Thanks Vix ! x If he replies back, it will get easier as you will know what to write from what he writes. ie, if he talks about other tv programs, or sports, etc.

Vix, keep applying for work, even if you have no exp. of the position being advertised.
An agency sent my CV in for a Quality Controller job with Seimans Medical. I have never done this before in any capacity, yet they saw something in me that I didn't as they offered me the job.
Assuming I don't get an interview and offer from RCCE for the role of 'Edible Essex Project Manager' (the one job I really really want), then in under 2 weeks I will be back working in a factory.

Mind you, the agency (it starts as an agency position) don't yet know that on the 2nd day of my assignment I have a hospital appointment, and just over 2 weeks after that, I have my cataract op., so my work situation may yet change.
    Never Knowingly Understood.
