I think i may go for the easy curry option .... if i do, do i just cook it totally as normal then freeze? And then how do i reheat it after from frozen??? :o

I usually take frozen curry out the night before and defrost in the fridge and reheat in a pan or microwave

    Yes :)

I defrost overnight in the fridge, put in a pot and reheat just like you would if it was leftovers in the fridge. Ensure it's piping hot etc :)

You could yes, personally i wouldn't for food safety. Lots do it this way, but my guts tend to be a bit wary/sensitive of precooked stuff so to me defrosting and cooking then is "safer"

I don't personally like to heat stuff in the microwave for some reason, but that's maybe just how i've been taught. But yes, you can.

there is a thread on this, ill look it up.

Cook from frozen is one thread :)

I would just freeze them raw and then use them in a stir fry/turkey and redcurrant sandwich when I wanted them. Or curry them now and then freeze the curry.

  • Hi, DM brought me some turkey steaks from Mr A's today (were reduced;)).

I thought I'd coat with egg & use porridge (don't have bread as wheat intolerant) and gently fry - but have absolutely no idea how long they'll take?

    Any advice hugely appreciated:)

I'd say - depending on the thickness - no more than 5 minutes a side.

I usually bash down my chicken breasts so they're nice and flat and cook them till they're around 75c - that's usually around 7 minutes. Take them off the heat and let sit for around 5-10 minutes more. They stay nice and juicy that way too.
