The resistor colour code.

On the day a teacher was disciplined as being racist for quoting the old non PC rhyme to remember the code, my question is what rhyme do you use.

The code is:-

0 Black
1 Brown
2 Red
3 Orange
4 Yellow
5 Green
6 Blue
7 Violet
8 Grey
9 White

Although I was taught a different rhyme at the start, it's the one the teacher got disciplined for that I remember.

As taught to me by an 80 year old radio amateur instructor because like Browntoa, I'd forgotten the one I was taught 25 years earlier....

I've never known a rhyme for this, and I don't see any need for one, in fact it seems to me it would be slower

it might help some people to note that from red to violet are in the order of colours of the rainbow
