Did you ask for the discount? I hate doing that part especially when the stuck up Barbie doll serving me looks at me like I have just drop landed off the moon!

Did a spooky attraction for REACT today. Eeee by gum the report is flamin' huge!

:rotfl: I felt massively embarrassed doing that too! I said that I was just gonna buy the chain for now and then come back for a pendant once I had decided. Surely alarms bells must ring for them once a customer mentions the big 'D' ?!

Agree with the 'Barbie doll' comment too, I have no idea what to write for the part that asks you to name one negative aspect about the staff's appearance.

One other thing - I have noticed that the chain is actually faulty - it looks like it's only coated in silver (which is a joke considering how much it cost) and is coming off in places. I can't take it back - I could try to exchange it, but if they put that through the till I'll be scr3wed!

    !

I know its not strictly in accordance with the brief but I've found after asking the girl whether her jewellery is from said shop you can quite easily add "it must cost a fortune, I'd love one like that, do you get discounts?". Oddly enough they seem only to hear 'discount' and start telling me that I can't have one and then I can say that I meant a staff discount because otherwise they must spend all their wages in store! Sneaky but it works. And if they do hear it right and say yes (or kind of) then you can ask cheekily if you can have a discount and it flows naturally.

Why don't you email Monica or whoever the contact is and ask for their opinion before you go and get it exchanged? That's what I would do, that way you are covered.

Managed to do my spooky attraction report. I am pooped. Think bedtime for me. Hope you are all having a top weekend.

I did the one in edinburgh -- i hated the report.

I've done the Edinburgh one twice and done the London one last year when I was down there visiting some mates. The London one is longer - they have a cafe!

*womp womp* Im glad Edinburgh doesn't!

As for returning you are allowed to exchange said product if its faulty like a normal customer so it doesn't matter.

I hate doing the attraction reports too. Takes me at least a couple of hours for the theme parks. I like the gift shop ones though, as they are much simpler and you get to just enjoy visiting the attraction.

Quick question on RE pub food visit. The instructions say to buy 2 drinks and 1 food item from the assignemnt list, it also says that
''You may order further meals and drinks but you must order a minimum of one drink from each list and one meal''

Does that mean it's ok to get a second meal on the same receipt, although I realise it won't be reimbursed?
Or should anything else be on a separate receipt?

    Thanks

Yes, as long as you order what they say in the brief, you can order additional meals and drinks on the same receipt. I do.

    Help please!

I was due to do a restaurant for Gyp tonight, and made a reservation online (on the restaurant's website) for 7pm. The closing time given online was 8pm. So I turned up just before 7, to find that it was already closed! I sent Gyp an Enquiry through their website letting them know what happened (and telling them that I have pictures of the closed restaurant), but I'm worried now. I Googled the problem and found a few threads on other message boards saying that Gyp basically harassed them when they've visited closed shops, and hasn't paid them anything. I really think I should get at least part of the reimbursement, for the petrol and mine and my mum's time. (I'm really glad it was her who I asked along, at least she was understanding! I'm still embarrassed though, I promised her a nice meal and instead we had to pick up fish and chips on the way home. :o)

Has this happened to you with Gyp? Are they as scary as they're made out to be? Am I likely to get something to cover the petrol and our time? There was no fee, just reimbursement for the meal.

And should I complain to the restaurant? I would normally if I'd made a reservation then found the place closed with no warning, but I don't want to step on toes.

A proper restaurant with Gyp where you have to book a table?!?! Are you sure its Gyp? It could go either way with them. I think someone on here (Uk Monkey) may have a phone number you can call them on for urgent enquiries. Emails don't seem to get a response. I'd ring the restaurant anyway and complain.
