We often go to the local DIY store. For all sorts of things from fence paint to light bulbs, drills to christmas decs and all things inbtween. We have probably been 3 or 4 times this year already but I dont think anybody would notice.

They probably would if you asked about laminate flooring, or some other scenario, each time though. I doubt the MS assignments for DIY that boyoboy1986 got spotted on where just to buy some light bulbs and say if the staff member was wearing a name badge, smiled, made eye contact etc, whereas with the underground sandwiches it is just buying a sandwich and noting things down about the transaction.

On another note, does anyone know who SEQ Solutions are? Been paid by them today, but the amount doesn't match with what I'm expecting from any companies.

With regards to Mystery outsource just chase them --- chase Joan she willl respond eventually.

With regards to jury service you dont need a letter from your agencies that would mean your employed and are assured work.

therefore I would get your accounts together and show them what you earn like a SE person would do and divide that out

I have exactly the same situation as the poster who did work for Mystery Outsource in February. I also did 2 jobs for them back then and have been left out of pocket. I've also been chasing Joan and she is not replying. :(

But that's DIY, if you think about it how often would you normally go to a DIY store?

I would regularly visit these places "in real life".

And the staff turnover in those places is really high - rare to see the same faces twice.

Regarding the RA email. I appear to be successful too which is brilliant as I didn't even go to the trouble of applying! Lol.

That's what I thought too! Until I read down through the email and it asks you to resend your application with your holiday date/place selection, as they appear to have lost a lot of them first time round :(

Still can't be bothered with the 750 words........

It's when the staff members suspect/know you are a mystery shopper and start being very attentive ie when I was in a Gap burger place once the manager came over to my table and asked me if I was enjoying my meal. Have never been asked that before:rotfl:

Generally saying you would like a receipt triggers the "this is a mystery shopper" in the burger shop.

It doesnt happen as often as people think

I used to work in a burger joint, they used to use Gap - although they dont use any MS co anymore, dont know why.

Every day at least 3 till staff would say "oh I think I got the mystery shopper because they asked for the receipt" etc - if the MS happened as often as the staff thought, then the burger company would be paying a fortune in fees to the MS co.

Essentially, they dont know who it is. The manager used to know roughly when it was taking place, but never specifics. Just make sure you continue to be professional, stick to the brief and act normal. But people do ask for the receipts - its quite common!

During mine this week the manager passed the juice out of the fridge that is usually help yourself, he brought the cleaner in to clean in my area, checked that the food was ok, and when I stood up to go he took my tray from me to put away!! I think I was rumbled!
