I have exactly the same situation as the poster who did work for Mystery Outsource in February. I also did 2 jobs for them back then and have been left out of pocket. I've also been chasing Joan and she is not replying.
I've contacted Joan and she told me that it would be put at the top of the list as I should have been paid by now. I'll give her a week and then will have to send her a reminder email. I had a similar experience with JKS and had to email them several times before getting payment. I hope you get paid soon.0 -
I bet lots of people who have been working away and need a receipt so they can claim for their meal on expenses wonder why they get OTT good service. :rotfl:
I've just logged on to GfK after registering recently and I've got 1 job available, it's a bank, but the fee is £0.00. Do GfK test their new shoppers with a no-fee job first?0 -
It doesnt happen as often as people think
I used to work in a burger joint, they used to use Gap - although they dont use any MS co anymore, dont know why.
Every day at least 3 till staff would say "oh I think I got the mystery shopper because they asked for the receipt" etc - if the MS happened as often as the staff thought, then the burger company would be paying a fortune in fees to the MS co.
Essentially, they dont know who it is. The manager used to know roughly when it was taking place, but never specifics. Just make sure you continue to be professional, stick to the brief and act normal. But people do ask for the receipts - its quite common!
Not what I've been told, my wife's cousin is a 2nd Assistant Manager at a branch and he told me that they get 3-4 customers a month who 'could' be the mystery shopper (they know the brief that well).0 -

I've had the floor show a few times.
Yesterday beat them all.
I'd been in the previous day and got a floor show
I went in today (not as MS -just to get the free Wifi:D)
The same guy clocked me as I went in.
Came to my table and offered me a coffee-Gratis!
I surfed the web, drank the coffee and went.
Might go in tomorrow:D0 -

I suppose it depends on where they are, if they are near a main road where you will get people driving past and stopping on a whim them I would think that could be 3-4 a day easily. In my old job I would often use them for lunch when I was out on the road, going in on my own, asking for a receipt and sitting a while reading the paper then going to the toilet before leaving and I do not think that I was the only "business person" (on a rubbish expense scheme) in there!0 -

Sorry mate but I can beat that. A year or more ago it was, a breakfast job. I got the full floor show, was offered another drink, newspapers laid out on all tables, balloons tied round the room. I went to toilet, as I left, 2 members of staff flew from opposite direction to open the door for me. Barely able to control my giggles, I approached my car to find the Managaress, broom in hand, sweeping around my car!! "Thank you so much!" she smiled sweetly. "Do hope to see you again soon!"
I got in the car and creased up. But was a bit disappointed that they didn't put on a "roll of honour" as I drove out of all the staff standing outside waving me on my way!!We’ve had to remove your signature. You can tell when it is quiet MSing when we all tell our "floor show" stories....
Mine was not really a floor show but I stood out like a sore thumb, breakfast dine in during "the snow" last December and their heating had broken/frozen so no one was sitting in the restaurant and all the staff were huddled round the grill to keep warm..
Then they had me sitting there with my hands (wearing gloves) wrapped round my coffee to try and keep warm. I think I got a top up but that was due to them feeling sorry for me more than anything0 -
I miss the floor shows, I always used to find them amusing. As for being quiet, the last 7 or 8 weeks I have had loads of jobs but they are stop start where I have loads for a few days then nothing. For example I broke my record the other day and done 18 visits then have nothing again until Sunday.0

I had one a few christmas' back in a burger joint (Of course) where he asked me if everything was ok with my meal. Feeling in the Xmas spirit I asked if he was trying to hit on me, since I was sitting in the middle of a row of tables and he's walked past 2 sets of customers without asking them
