Thanks for your comprehensive reply. I thought that too. Now for another stupid question - I now know there are only 2 reels - can I go at say, 13:00, or must I be there for the first showing? Lastly (I think) - what do I do inbetween times? Trailers are usually about 30mins I think, do I just hang around?:(

I'd aim for 2 showings which are an hour apart. By the time your out of one it won't be a long wait til the second one. Generally you'll find the same adverts but in different orders. I'd recommend talking to the manager to check how many reels they have to be sure. Everyone I've come across has been great.

Spender - screens are generally safe, just need to be aware of whether the cinema show the same reel across two screens at the same time. Unlikely for this one, but might come up for Harry Potter!

Word of warning with the pub jobs with RE, you must obtain a receipt for all items purchased. (Not the Kings chain the other one they have). Previously, you have been able to get a coffee etc after your meal and not get a receipt - now you have to get a receipt for everything you eat and drink.... I've just been caught out with this and now will not get paid for it.
  • Can anyone tell me when Bare pay? I completed and uploaded my last job for them on 30th March but it was not approved until 4th April. It was part of an 8 job circuit and all of the other jobs were completed and approved by 28th March. The notes at the beginning of this thread say they pay around the 20th of the month for all jobs completed in the previous month. On the Bare website FAQ's it says that they 'cut' the cheques between the 15th and 20th of the month for all services 'rendered' during the previous month. I was expecting a payment to show in my account this morning but when it didn't I gave them a call. They told me that they always pay 30 days after the job is complete so I would not be paid until 30th April. This obviously conflicts with this information on this thread and their own website. So, I have two questions:

    1. When do they pay - is it around the 20th of the month or 30 days after the job is complete?
    2. Is a job complete when I have finished working on it or when it has been approved?

    Many thanks!

Has anyone else done the 'army n soldier' type shops for the 'naked' company this month (or last for that matter).

I'm just wondering how the reimbersment is going to be worked out, as they pay in Euros and we work in £ how do we know if we will actually get the full amount back, I supose it depends on the exchange rates on day?????

I'm not sure there is any definitive answer to this, last month I did a phone call job for them and was paid three days later:eek:

You don't have to be there for the First showings. At least you didn't when I last did one for FT. Go to the consecutive ones, and actually you will probably find you won't end up with as much time to hang around as you think. By the time you get out of one screen and make sure you have everything you need, get to the next screen to go in and make sure you're there with plenty of time before the next lot starts, the time goes.
That said, it does seem to drag a bit if you are having to do lots of screens. By the looks of it you only have 2 so that's not so bad at all. The first one I did for them was when a Harry Potter film had just been released, and was on all but 1 screen in the cinema, each one a different reel!! Was definitely not pleased when I turned up and there was a little hand written notice everywhere about an additional showing, which was on yet another bloody reel. I was there all afternoon and into the evening. Not pleased!!

I tend to only do FT now if I can do it at the same time as them who can't be named, so as to get paid twice for the same work essentially, and for films that aren't so super popular as HP was!

I find that with FT, I count the amount of screens the film is showing on, so this film is showing on 2 screens with 3 hours between each screening, so I am going to do "2" screens.

I too did the Harry Potter and was at the cinema for hours and hours as it was showing on nearly every single screen, I could have cried at the end and even now if I see a trailer/film relating to that time it sends shivers down the spine.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just got the instructions through and yes, I can go anytime (between tomorrow and Saturday!) It looks like I just have two, so I think this will be a nice and easy one to start with. I too do the ones for "you know who", but not this time as my cinema(s) aren't covered:(. I love the cinema audits:T
