Ah right well in that case I cant help as I only do video work and have no idea what MSL do that isnt video other than the shoppers they use to accompany us video shoppers when required. Its worth calling them though and make sure you ask about accompanied work too. Also might be worth mentioning your car if its up to 3 years old. They do service jobs where you would take your car and someone like me would accompany you and film you. Make the call tomorrow. Seriously its a damn good company and I dont say that about many.
Im off to bed now but I will pop back tomorrow if you have any more questions especially as Lizzie has already said shes off tomorrow.
Thanks for the advice, am off to bed myself as well

Maybe I'll give MSL another chance at some point in the future, I trust Jen's judgement implicitly, but atm, for me at least; there are just too many questions unanswered.
Thanks. Like I said they have been good to me ive done last min report jobs for them the fees have been good and the accompany visit carol is talkinga bout are a peice of..... well you know.
Weeg has done an accompany visit with mewe had a GREAT time!

I've done one job for MSL but not seen a thing within a 50-mile-radius since the end of last year. I did a bingo club for them, and that client's bingo clubs and casinos were all I ever saw, then at the start of this year those disappeared too and even with a 50-mile-radius I've seen nothing at all.
Anyone know if there's a 25+ age restriction on the majority of jobs or something else if it's not regional?
Thye just started a new online system could be that your not set up right give em a call.0 -
I registered with them 4 years ago but have only been offered 2 jobs in all that time (both of which I did). Nothing negative was said, so I presume they went okay. The contact I had said that they don't get much in my area but they would be in touch. That was 2 years ago! This was report based though.0

I have to say, in terms of MSL, I've only ever seen a very few jobs, of which most seem to be ESA jobs which I've noticed have sat around on the ESA boards forever.
Would I be right in thinking that they have more jobs for video shoppers?
Also, I agree with previous posts that company representatives can only be a good thing. When you think of how hard some companies are to get hold of, having people like Max who respond to questions on this forum. And actively seek our feedback can only be a good thing surely?
As someone who has only recently started mystery shopping I can't claim to have the experience of some of the members here but ido know that I have received a lot of help and advice from people posting on here and whilst a certain amount of scepticism is good, driving people off the boards, especially when they come with the recommendation of experienced members such as Jen_br, is not really the professional image I, and many others (I presume) would like to present.
Personally, I would welcome a representative from each of the main companies featured on the OP, who would be available to answer 'newbie' questions and help with specific queries. Yesn there are more 'professional' forums out there, but from my point of view, this is meant to be a welcoming forum where newbies can learn the ropes and ask for help from more experienced shoppers and that is certainly the experience I have had. Yes, it can be frustrating to be asked the same questions again and again but if you think of this as a school, an average teacher in a secondasry school teaches the same lesson, year on year on year, and doesn't expect each year 10 class (for example) to read through the previous years coursework to find the answers to each question before answering.
I suppose what I'm saying is that there will always be newbies, the threads are very long, and we are lucky to have some incredibly patient and helpful people on this thread who are willing to help people. And overall this is a really positive forum with a lot of combined knowledge and experience. New things are always scary when you start and asking for advice is nothing to be ashamed of even if the question has been asked a million times before. The first few posts can seem quite daunting, the list of companies is long and also does not include everyone, different people work in different ways and find different things easier or harder than others. Those of us who have done jobs know that its not as easy as it seems so how about instead of assuming everyone is out to make a fast buck we assume that posters are willing to work hard and give them the best advice wqe are able to. If they decide its too much like hard work then fine, but mightnt we be putting off people who are willing to work hard and do really good work by putting across the image that we (and the companies we work on behalf of) are hard, harsh and unforgiving?
Just a thought, any criticism to my inbox please0 -
Also, all spelling mistakes are my fault, working on a touchscreen phone at t month and the predictive text function is not all I expected, although not as bad as some of the iphone fails (google it and you'll see what I mean

Actually I think I mentioned them in my Pm to you didn't I? If not do contact them for the vid stuff0 -
I think there is a difference between the need for written and video work, I hadn't had any contact with MSL after signing up until I ticked the "owns video equipment" box on my profile, then they contacted me. I have previously posted asking for info on them but they really haven't been discussed that much in the past, that's now, er, changed...0
