Crying over Boohoo.com - Warning!

Very disappointed with my first order from Boohoo.com on behalf of my teenage daughter.
1. Arrived six working days after the order rather than the stated "within four working days". Therefore the dress arrived too late for the ocacasion for which it was required.
2. Customer service took 14min to answer phone when I rang to chase order
3. Bizarrely, you have to get a "Return merchandise authentication number" before you can post your return parcel. I emailed for this four days age and am still awating a reply!
4. The only good thing you can say about Boohoo is that it's cheap. The customer service is terrible and I would definitely not use them again. Too much hassle.

  • I've used them several times.

You don't need to e-mail for a returns number, when you arrange a return online, it comes up immediately - always has done for me.

The only thing I would say is that you have to chase for a refund.

    Returns system seems deliberately confusing.
If you return under the distance selling regulations you have to do it in writing to an address in manchester or by emailing them at their cancellations department. I did this Friday morning not yet had a reply.

Packing up item i have included a letter of the cancellation email i sent them. The return label is to a different address than the cancellation goes to.

I decided not to use their online return system as its flawed for returning by the distance selling regs there is not a drop down to cancel that way. Its just options for why you are returning. If i click one then i am saying its a normal return it seems to me.

i bet they don't' read the letter and try and charge their restocking fee and not refunding postage if you get a returns reference as well.

I am returning with the letter and put distance selling regulations on the front. I will also pay the extra 77p(ish) for recorded on the free label. They let me do that the last time i was not sure of a company at the post office so i hope they still allow that.

I will let you know when i get my full payment returned.

i have to agree with freddie no bits.

unless i was buying it physically from a high street shop, there's no way that if i had an occasion coming up i'd leave buying something online that i needed in the next 5 days or so.
    helpful tips
    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Because this is so slow i will never order from them again. I have ordered 3 times from them in the past and if everything is what you want its fine but the return process is dreadful!

I've always found boohoo's return policy to be the best and easiest of all the online clothes stores I use. For example a lot less hassle than ASOS.

the queality of the clothes though is another matter. I stopped buying from them as the clothese were awful quality and a terrible fit.

lol i returned something to asos and that was easy and refunded quickly.

I finally got my refund from boohoo by going on their facebook page and commenting. There was lots of others doing the same. They blamed some internal problem but i was not convinced. They deleted one of my posts after they refunded (in 2 portions!) as i mentioned i wanted my postage back as well as i returned under distance selling regs!!!

Also had a message from someone else in the same boat asking if they really refunded me as they are struggling to get one.

Really? But ASOS is just sticking the attached label on the parcel and sending it back?

Not having a go at you, by the way, I just always thought ASOS had a great returns policy.
  • I am having issues (again!) with Boohoo.com. I ordered a pair of boots on wednesday and paid for next day delivery, surprise, surprise, they didn't turn up yesterday. I have tried to use the tracking system to find out where my delivery is and that isn't working.

I have emailed Boohoo twice as I don't have access to Facebook or Twitter whilst at work, which is where they seem to respond quicker, and I have had no replies. So my boots are no where to be seen.

This isn't the first time I've had problems with Boohoo but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, but their service is shoddy and extremely lacking, their customer service is non exsistent and I am still waiting for a response to my last complaint that I emailed to them 4 months ago.

I definitely will not be ordering from them again......once I actually get my boots!
  • I completely sympathise with anyone fretting over Boohoo's returns and refunds or shoddy customer service. I ordered two items before Christmas (a dress and a pair of shoes) and decided to send them back. The dress was very small and of poor quality and the shoes were much higher than I expected and again of poor quality. I returned the items following the returns procedures by packing items in original packaging and obtaining proof of postage. I since received email saying Boohoo received the dress and will refund me for the dress. I complained immediately to say I sent back shoes in the same parcel. After a very long wait (and resending complaint email) I began to receive correspondence from various different people in complaints department. Their conclusion is that there is nothing they can do! Either Boohoo have an incredibly poor returns department or this is a new profit-making strategy. Have told all friends and family to avoid Boohoo and am telling any readers of this to AVOID BOOHOO AT ALL COSTS!
