I picked my dress up - IS Flora last week and I LOVE IT. I adore it and spent most of Monday night - holding it..... well actually letting down one of the underskirts but holding it none the less - I cannot wait to wear this gown and I am not repeat NOT a girlie girl at ALL.
I know I am very very very lucky to have found this dress - all due to Gleeful (thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou)
Chin up ladies nothing is impossible
fingers, toes and legs crossed you all find the gown of your dreams at the best price possible. I thought mine was expensive (£850) but am learning that this is a bargain for an Ian Stuart and its so beautifully made
Linda and Leanne at No 9 Dresses did a wonderful job making it me shaped
Married the love of my life on 28th April 2011 :T

Hi Guys
I went to look at wedding dresses for the 1st time on Sat. It was amazing.
(Though unfortunately had some really terrible news involving my dad on the Sunday meaning that he probably won't be able to play a part in my wedding. But am trying to stay positive and focussed at the moment).
So ... back to the dresses. I tried on loads of different styles and the ladies were extremely helpful and really friendly:) Didn't care that I was standing there in my bra and pants. Infact i want to go back and try lots more.
Haven't found the one yet... but did try and Ian Stuart dress!!! Unfortunately they didn't have Flower bomb (which I am still depserate to try), so tried Antoinette. Absolutely stunning. The fabric is amazing. I felt wonderful, but being so short (5ft) my SIL2B who was with me said it looked abit like the dress was wearing me.
Still haven't ruled out flower bomb though or trying lots of other Ian Stuart dresses.
By the way, Antoinette was £2,200 or so in teh shop I went to (I'm in Kent):)0 -
Hi Hadley,
Just wanted to give you some hugs. So sorry to hear you've had some awful news about your Dad :grouphug:
I'm really pleased you got to try on some real live Ian Stuart dresses! You defo need to track down a Flowerbomb to see what it looks like in the flesh. I am determined to finish my 30 day shred before I go dress shopping as I would like to be a little less wobbily before I have to stand around in my bra and pants lol!
Anyways hope you're ok my dear, and we're all hear if you need some virtual hugs/somewhere to rant/shoulders to cry on. Take care please missy xxHi Guys

Thanks so much. Its good to know. I am trying to be positive and still keep going on the planning as much as I can. though feel incredibly deflated at the moment
So deep breath, I am definately going to track down a flowerbomb and try it on.
Part of me is hoping that it looks terrible.. only because its way way over budget. but I also would love to have it as my amazing wedding dress.
From Saturday I would say I'm definately veering towards a dress with a full skirt .. well that was in that shop :rotfl:
I'm surprised to find myself saying it (as I was going to wait until I lost all the weight I could), but get out there and try. Its really liberating and nobody cares at all what you look like. And if anything, its given me a kick to get on with the diet - well until my dad got worse now I'm eating and drinking out of stress I'm sure!
If you go, I guarantee you will love it!0 -
Hi Hadley
I too, like you, fell in love with IS flowerbomb. I first seen it in a shop window and I just knew it was the one, but with a price tag like that, I soon gave up on the idea. But I could not resist trying it on and it was better than I had ever imagined and I just had to have that dress or a dress like it, But I could no way justify spending that amount of money. So I turned to China.... controversial I know. I contacted a website that was claiming they make replicas of IS dresses and I took a gamble with it and paid around £250 for it and it came today and it's GORGEOUS!! I am so thrilled with it. So if you are still wanting the flowerbomb, you consider a copy, if you want more information on the website or a photo (I have yet to get a hoop for the dress yet so it looks a little flat on) you're more than welcome x0 -

HI
I have tried so many lovely dresses... Some not so lovely (well on me anyway):rotfl:
I still love Ian Stuart dresses... but so many different beautiful designers... oh decisions, decisions.
I know I want big, but something a little different... without being stupid that is.:rotfl:0 -
Or the one I just bought : http://www.unique-vintage.com/white-rose-ruched-sweetheart-mermaid-style-wedding-gown-p-8852.html
Gleeful, I really love that dress, and it's an amazing price. How did it look when you got it? Was delivery/customs any hassle? Would love to see any pics as well if you have them.
