Car Problem!!

Get it serviced, Buy a cheap code reader if it has an OBD port, It should have one at that year.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

If it only does it when you press the brake pedal, you could have a split brake servo diaphragm or a faulty idle control valve.0

Took it to the garage, but no fault could be detected regarding the engine cutting off!!! They have advised me to take the car to the Auto Electrician.
Also, after changing to the fifth gear, car struggles to go above 50mph. Is there any problems with the clutch?? Do I have to chang the whole unit??
Thank you for all your replies.0 -

Take it to an Auto Electrician as advised, I very much doubt that it is the clutch.0 -
If it was the clutch the engine would be screaming away as you accelerate with the revs into the
red on the rev counter if you have one.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The car is with the Auto electrician at the moment....and I am waiting for his call!!!!!
Do you think it might be the gear box then???? The fifth gear does not seem to work...0 -

Do you need to keep the throttle open at all times to keep it running? You say it cuts out when you're slowing down/stopping but do you depress the clutch for more than 10-20 seconds whilst slowing down?
If so it's likely to be a perished vacuum hose messing up the MAP signal.0 -
Or indeed it could be the MAF sensor itself.0

You could always buy another one from Autoquake.0
