Hair-cut-not the way I wanted it!

  • I am totally paranoid about having my hair cut these days after a scissor happy hairdresser decided to do her thing and not what i asked for. I never went back, in fact i didn't have my hair cut for over 2 years which was until recently. My friends daughter is at college studying hair and beauty and she gave me the straightest cut I've had in my life. She went all over my head not one strand was left out of place. Absolutely amazing, she has got my custom for as long as i have hair on my head. She has always had a natural talent with hair which i think in order to do this work you sometimes need it, those that look at it as a job that people will always want a hair cut shouldn't be doing the job.

I used to have my hair permed wavy about every 9 months and the last time it was done(10 years ago), after 2 days it fell out at the back in big clumps!!
I went back to the hairdressers, don't know why really as they couldn't stick it back on but I thought they may give me a refund and wondered if the lotion had been too strong so wanted to tell them so no-one elses hair fell out. The girl just laughed and said i'd have to wear a hat until it grew back and then I should go back and they'd do me a free perm. I've never been back and never had another perm since.
  • I'd try and go and talk to thte manager when the stylist isn't there so she cant come over and say it wasnt her fault, if you are shy of complaing she may talk you into a corner and then the manager wont do anything.

My hair always used to be cut too short by the hair dressers, whichever I went to and since I was actually trying to grow it out I never got anywhere! The last straw was when I went in to one and said 'can you just cut it at the back and sides please to neaten it up' (I'm male it it's shorter there) I've got curly hair and explained I wanted it cut short enough so that it wouldn't curl. No one had had a problem with this before. this sylist said 'I don't really do short hair'. Then I heard the clippers start to buzz...

No, it didn't get all chopped off, he literally did about 1 or 2 minutes and only did the hairline at the very back of my neck, actually said he didnt really know how to do it! left all my curly hair and charged me £15 for the privelege (the price for a wet cut because he'd use one of those house plant watering misting sprays, not actually shampooed it or anything!). Being the wimp I am I paid, but I've not been to a hairdresser in about 7 years. I've saved a fortune in haircuts and learned to love my curly hair!

Never trust a hairdresser. They seem to justify how much they've done by how much hair they cut.

Mine was the opposite - I asked for a length just below the jaw line and she was worried about it being too much off at once. I ended up with it sitting on my shoulders, which is no use because my hair grows too fast and is at the awkward stage again already.

Best hairdresser I ever went to was amazing...cut was perfect, layered, thinned and a style I could do myself at home. Only trouble was, third time I went, ended up chatting about various things, and I realised the guy was an ex boyfriend from 10 years back:eek: (We have both changed a lot lol) So I haven't went back.:o

  • i used to go to the hair dressers every couple of months to have about an
inch or so cut off I have a short bob style which I was charged about £30 for
the pleasure. Yesterday I got my hubby to cut my hair instead and do you
know it aint half bad we got a book out of the library and he followed the
step by step guide and me giving instructions it isnt too bad and is quite straight and I blow dried and smoothed it out. And to be honest I have had worse cuts at the hairdressers before now. Ijust keed thinking about that £30
    pound I have saved too.

my sister had similar experience at toni and guy! she called the girl 'sadie scissorhands!!' lol! the girl cut too much off and gave her really bad layers, she didnt take any recommendations from my sister, and my sister got really upset. the girl had a really bad attitude like yours victory, and my sister stood up to her, but still had to walk away from the shop unhappy. i think she actually upset the stylist too. the girl was saying that she cut in layers, my sister said ' love, you might have well stuck a pudding bowl on my head and cut around that... its awful!!! the stylist who had an attitude problem... said 'well what do you want me to do.. its done now? i can cut some more off??' my sister, fuming, said... ' you cut any more off my head and ill look like bleeding Gail Porter!!!' i have to say when she says the story it is comical as my sister is very dry, but she was deeply upset by it!!

I LOVE my hairdresser!! She is my neighbour and charges me £15 to cut and add bleach highlights in the undersection of my hair.....something we both came up with as I didn't want continual 'roots'. The amount of compliments I get about my hair from customers is unbelievable!! They all want to know who does it and how much it costs. They can't believe it when I tell them:p

And this is from someone who used to pay £50 just to have a cut and blowdry!! Never again. I have told her if she moves, I'm moving to be with her ;)
