Cheap (but good) nappies and wipes

I'm hoping someone will be able to recommend some cheap nappies and wipes that are pretty good.

My son is 8 weeks old and is going through nappies like there is no tomorrow.

I'm currently using pampers which are good but expensive (currently 2 boxes for £20) and using asda wipes (currently on 4 for £3). I'm a member of all the baby clubs so use as many vouchers as possible. I did try Wilkos new baby nappies but they weren't very good and 40% ended up leaking.

Hope someone can help me save a bit of money!

i always use tesco, morrisons or sainsburys own brand of nappies and wipe and i've never had a single problem with using them for any of my 3 children.

quite a few people have recommended lidls brand,have not tried them yet though

have used all main supermarket own brands, Lidl, Aldi and Boots for nappies. All fine. Am about to embark on using the economy ranges as my finances are dreadful so will let you know how it goes! I am also now using the Sainsbury's basic wipes at 18p for 80. They are no where near as good as the more expensive own brand wipes but even accounting for needing to use double the usual amount for dealing with poo (they're a bit thin), they're less than half the price of other own brand and do the job OK-ish!

i quite like the morrisons 18p wipes. i have found they are the right wetness to deal with most thing's. i found sainsburys ones to be alot drier.

lidl nappies are really good also. i'm currently using their pulls up for my little boy. the only downside is they are quite a generous fit and the szie 5 are quite loose on my son. but the morrisons size 5 fit better, wish they had a size 4 tho as that would be perfect.

wipes I always stock up when on offer and brought 55 packs before baby was born paying no more than £1 a pack for branded wipes. Sainsburys did have on fri huggies wipes buy 1 get 2 free. When sainsburys does wipes and baby toileteries half price the johnson 4 pack wipes is under £2.50 which is excellent value so we stock up on those.

Nappies wise we also brought some of each size whenever on offer and havent had to buy any although we did buy from boots who sent us buy one get one free voucher on pampers (both husband and i signed up to babyclub) and they were on 2 for £10 but the voucher took off £6.49 so we brought 4 packs of size 5 (as only size we hadnt brought).

Asda and Pampers have been the best nappies we have brought and we have tried them all worst were sainsburys own and their eco fro our experiences.

Try amazon for deals as know people have got pampers nappies and wipes cheap on there - also look on www.netmums.co.uk as people sell nappies on there (we had to sell some sz 2 and 3 as we had too many sold very quickly as sold them at price I paid which was much cheaper than retail price) also look on ebay as people sell them on there when they have brought too many and many up pick up only so maybe some near you.

I wont pay more than 10p a nappy for something thats going to be thrown in bin - although this may have to change as now about to move into sz 4plus at 6mths old and get less nappies in a pack so may have to revise my per nappy costs.

Use as many coupons as you can when things are on offer maxmising savings

I didn't switch until my son was quite a bit older as I thought they wouldn't be as good as the huggies I used (I found Pampers rubbish but everyone is different) anyway I decided to give Tesco's own a go and found them to be just as good if not better than the huggies. Just try a pack and see how you go and if they are no good try another brands pack until you find one as good(I'm sure you will!!)...as for wipes tbh I just stuck to whatever was on offer but I only used fragrance free/sensitive but again never had a problem with Tesco's own. HTH

Tescos own brand nappies and wipes definitely!

I have tried all the other supermarket brands and major brands and found that Tesco's is better (in my opinion) than all of them! Switched for DS at 14 months old and used for DD from birth! Never any problems, I only use their fragrance free wipes though.

not a fan of pampers here usually use huggies but asda's own are good - 2pks for £10 i think. also asda do boxes of 12pks of wipes for £11 - either johnsons or pampers. they have some huggies wipes on offer at the mo as well.

I've never been keen on pampers or huggies , found them both very leaky on both my boy and girl. I've tried most of the supermarket own brands and have settled on asda comfort or boots depending which has offers on. Asda own wipes are good too , the cotton soft ones are 4 packs for £3 and there's 80 in each and I find them as good as pampers or johnsons.

I'm currently using Asda little angels nappies for my son and they are just as good as the branded nappies. As all babies are different shapes, I'd suggest buying a small pack of whatever nappy you want to try first before buying a big box incase they don't fit your baby very well.
