Dial-a-phone and Quidco
Hi.
This is my first post on here, so in advance, thanks for your help!!
I am looking to take a new contract out and have seen that Dial-a-phone offer a good one with 7 months free (£35 at month 6, 10, 15, 20 and £38.71 at month 24). With this, Quidco also offer £50 back on any purchase through Dial-a-phone.
A few questions...
1) How good are Dial-a-phone with the cashback. What do I need to do to get the money back?
2) Does Quidco and the cashback from Dial-a-phone both work or does one cancel the other out?
3) I have never used Quidco before. How long does it take to receive the money from Dial-a-phone?
I have tried searching for the answers but can't find anything!
Thanks for your help.
Andy

1) Don't know. Search the board, see Cashback Guide for Dummies ,follow all instructions, keep your fingers crossed. Having said that, I am with them ATM (Desire, 18 months O2). You have to send copies of the bills they require at the given time intervals.
2) Yes, you can have both if tracked.
3) Information is easily available at quidco:
Tracking speed
(from purchase date)
Fast (avg. 1 day)
Payment speed
(from validation date)
Fair (avg. 2 months)

I've got a feeling MJ was warning against using Dial-a-phone recently ....someting to do with the T&C's ????
Maybe he will comment on it when he spots this threadIt's not just about the money0 -
....someting to do with the T&C's ????
A little bit worrying bit in the paperwork was:We reserve the right, should we choose, to change the payment method in the future. For example, we may apply credits to your airtime account instead of crediting your bank account...0 -
Do Dial-a-phone send reminders when you are due to get cashback?
I've tried to get the information on their website but there isn't much there!0 -
Reminders?! Don't you want too much? They will be happy if you forget to send. I guess they will go bust if everyone claims accurately and they have to pay all the cashback due.0

A big no.
I have a feeling MJ was saying that their T&C's were so vague as to be meaningless... But I'm sure he'll be along soon.Do Dial-a-phone send reminders when you are due to get cashback? It's not just about the money0 -
Now now... Can't spend ALL my time on guard on here...
I have been trying for the best part of two months to get this dealer to confirm its t&c in writing. Although you can locate some sparse t&c via the Q&A and I have obtained something else the t&c are quite simply unacceptable to me and (as a direct result) I have refrained from taking out a contract I've had my eye on for sometime. I also won't be taking any of my people to them unless and until they change both their attitude and make the t&c clearly. For example; they reserve the right to pay credit into your mobile account instead of to you by cheque. THAT raises all sorts of issues and is totally unacceptable. Next - how long do you get to claim? Well, you find THAT out a few weeks later (if they don't tell you immediately - and their t&c allow them not to). Some of the other unknowns I am familiar with and would actually have trusted them to do. HOWEVER, any dealer - even one who has been so excellent as this one (as cpw once was - remember what happened to them!?) deserves no margin for doubt or trust when (despite literally dozens of attempts - they can't even produce a clear and proper set of t&c BEFORE you order).
I have used Phones4u extensively and put them on a pedestal; they have now removed themselves from that (at least Dialaphone have) and now have the worst set of t&c I've ever come across. Use them in the dark and you won't be able to sue when the lights come on. Number one rule - protect yourself or don't do it. Rule number two (a new one for the benefit of the poster on here); if you expect the dealer to send reminders (ANY dealer) then you really shouldn't be doing ANY cashback deal. The guide referred to sets everything out and more, so do the research or don't do the deal!0
