  • Evening all, not posted for a while, but still lurking. Got lost reading the T@SCO thread on grabbit - feel like i 've been there for days! :eek:Updated siggi with all spends, very complicated, as have had some DTD vouchers back. Slightly over budget, but have stocked up with essentials, dog food etc, so should see the benefit in later months.
Hope all are well, cannot believe March is nearly over. April will be good, as work on the en-suite starts, but MUST stay in budget, or will have no money to pay the contractors!!!:(
Thanks to all again for another informative month!

did my last 'big' shop of the month today. Pay day is next friday and I'm really hoping I don't have to get any last minute extras such as milk or fruit. This is my first month of the grocery challenge and I have gone over budget, but it is still a lot better than the £700+ I was spending each month. Will post final spend next week.:)

Hiya. I got the idea off the website thermoscooking. Basically warm up the thermos with boiling water first and empty. Pop your lentils/pulses/oats for porridge etc inside, leaving room for them to swell and put your freshly boiled water in. Put the thermos onto it's side as it seems to work better that way, then hey presto, next morning they are ready to cook with for a faster meal!!!:T

Ps, it is FAB with pasta!!!

£10.42 spent in Lidl. I got 5 packs of the chicken breasts that were on offer and some mozzarella.

Chicken is portioned/diced, bagged and in the freezer. It should keep me going for a long time!

    Evening ladies :D

Back from Lidl, hardly any meat at all and the veg. was a bit manky but got about half my shopping in there and spent £92.50. We then went to the big Asda Walmart and spent £63. That was all the store cupboard stuff and the bits I needed for the first week of my meal plan. So for the first spend of April it is 155.50.

Though today has made me realise why I always do my shopping online. It was a bl00dy nightmare. All I wanted to do is take my list and whizz round and pick up what I wanted and get out of there but DH and the brood were here, there and every were looking at every thing and being pains in the posterior. It took twice as long as it should to do what I needed to do. So it's back to ordering online for me.

    Off to make a sig.

Anyone else having problems with the T£sco price checker ? It does not seem to be working. Have tried browsing by aisle, by item etc. Is this a ploy to stop us getting our cheap shopping??

Spent £2 on milk in Mr T on Thursday, then £27.77 in Mr M's today. I got a few bargains, including 2.5kg of potatoes for 64p, 4 large peppers for 35p, and 4 tomatoes for 25p, all of which were on their 'store seconds' section, and coleslaw was only 30p, so OH can have that with a jacket potato in the week. Also got all my Easter eggs for £1 each, and 2 cans of de-icer for next winter which was reduced to 78p, but won't count these in the grocery budget.
